About Guwahati Airport

Guwahati Airport is known as Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and Guwahati International Airport. Formerly it was known as Borjhar Airport and is the primary airport of Assam. It is India's 12th busiest airport, located at Borjhar, around 28 km from Guwahati. The airport got its name from the freedom fighter and Assam's first Chief Minister after India's Independence, Gopinath Bordoloi. The Airports Authority of India manages the airport that serves as an Indian Air Force base.Guwahati Airport is an International airport in the northeastern parts of India. About Pune Airport

Pune Airport lies around 10 km northeast of the centre of Pune. It is a customs airport and a civil enclave operated by India's Airports Authority. It is located on the western side of the Indian Air Force's Lohegaon Air Force Station.The airport has domestic and international flightsómost international flights to West Asia fly out of Pune Airport. The Pune Airport handled around 8.09 million passengers in 2020. The Airports International Council awarded the Pune Airport the Best Airport by Hygiene Measures in the entire Asia-pacific in 2020.Pune Airport has a 2,540 m long runway. Indian Air Force shares the runway with commercial airlines. AAI has also developed a 2200m x 23 m parallel taxiway to facilitate civil operation on the 10/28 southern side runway. Currently, IAF and AAI work on a fundamental relationship where they have scheduled night landings for civilian flights. However, this is not a long-term solution.In 2008, AAI completed building two terminal extensions for international passengers that measures nearly 12,000 sq metres on the sides of the old terminal. The extensions have helped ease the peak-time pressure of air passengers. Furthermore, the Airport Authority of India launched a plan in 2018 to develop a new second terminal with an investment of Rs. 40 crore. The construction is expected to finish by January 2023.
