Prayagraj Airport (IATA: code IXD), locally known as Allahabad Airport, serves Allahabad and the neighbouring cities. Collectively managed by the Indian Air Force and the Airports Authority of India (AAI), it is located 12 km from the city centre and has a single runway with plans for an extension. The authorities are working on renovating the airport completely as per international standards.
