Aurangabad Airport (IATA: IXU), also known as the Chikkalthana Airport, is located about 5.5 km from the main city of Aurangabad. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is in charge of the daily operations of the airport, which serves both domestic and international passengers. Its runway was extended and fused with a new taxiway and boundary construction in 2005, and the technical complex and modern integrated terminal building was constructed in 2008.
