It is the second busiest airport in Madhya Pradesh, behind Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore, in terms of passenger and aircraft flow. It is named after the Paramara ruler Raja Bhoj of the 10th century. This terminal has around 14 check-in and 10 immigration counters to let passengers move more quickly. The Raja Bhoj Airport provides complimentary luggage trolleys and wheelchairs for the elderly and physically impaired. Medical assistance, child care rooms, car rentals and prepaid taxi counters, a tourist information centre, lost and found baggage desk, and comfortable and well-maintained travel lounges are all available at the airport for the convenience and safety of passengers. It is situated in Bhopalís northwestern outskirts, 15 Km from the cityís central Bhopal Junction railway station and 20 Km from the cityís southern Habibganj railway station. The airport is also close to the intersection of National Highway 46 (a ring road that circles Bhopal) and State Highway 18, which connects Bhopal and Indore.

About Bhopal

Bhopal, Madhya Pradeshís capital, is known for its two artificial lakes (Upper Lake and Lower Lake), which divide the city. Rustic mosques, busy bazaars, serpentine alleys, and beautiful havelis may be found in the intriguing old town to the north of the lakes. The new town, to its south, has fancy infrastructure, shopping malls, and broad roadways. This contrast is what distinguishes Bhopal as an amazing blend of old and new, past and present, rustic and elegant. The Taj-Ul-Masjid (one of Indiaís largest mosques, built by Bhopalís third female queen, Shah Jahan Begum) and Moti Masjid are two of the cityís most impressive mosques that tourists like to explore. The city will capture your attention with its breathtakingly magnificent havelis and museums, as well as its delicious Nawabi cuisine.
