Airline carriers that operate from this airport include IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet. Tirupati Airport has a single terminal, which began operations in 2015. Shaped like a garuda, this integrated terminal made of steel and glass can handle over 500 domestic passengers and 200 international passengers. It has eighteen check-in counters, a VIP lounge, four immigration counters, and a parking lot that can accommodate up to 250 cars. The total area covered by the terminal is a sprawling 16,500 sq m and an additional 5,500 sq m for the basement. Tirupati Airport is well-connected to the city by taxis and buses. Car rental services are also available at the airport. The airport has childcare rooms, medical facilities, and wheelchairs. Many shops inside sell local handicrafts, jewellery, magazines, and books.
