About Goa Airport

Goa International Airport (IATA Code: GOI) serves Goa, which is one of India's smallest states in terms of area. The airport is located in Dabolim, near the coastal town of Vasco Da Gama, 30 km from Panaji and 23 Km from Margao. Due to its location, it is commonly referred to as the Dabolim Airport. Goa is a popular tourist destination that draws visitors from all over the world. As a result, Goa International Airport is one of India's busiest. The airport was developed by the Portuguese in the early 1950s. The Indian Naval Forces freed Goa from the Portuguese. The airport is presently a civil plus naval air base shared by the Goa State Government and the Indian Navy, and it serves both passenger and naval/coast guard aircraft. In 2013, Goa International Airport opened a new integrated terminal, which has been fully operational since 2014. It takes charge of all passenger traffic, including domestic and international flight arrivals and departures. It has a peak hour passenger capacity of 2,750 passengers. The new terminal was built to accommodate the growing air traffic and eliminate the inconvenient separation of domestic and international terminals that existed earlier.
