Indore Airport, also known as Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport (IATA: IDR, ICAO: VAID), is a customs airport serving Indore and the surrounding towns in Madhya Pradesh like Ujjain. Indore Airport was named after Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar Dynasty. It is the state's busiest airport and is located about 8 km from Indore's city centre. Indore Airport has an integrated terminal, which opened in 2012 and has a capacity of at least 700 passengers per hour. There are 16 check-in counters and 16 immigration counters at the new terminal. There is a bus station on Aerodrome road outside the airport, from where one can take buses and prepaid cabs to Indore city. The central Indore bus station is 13 km from the airport, and both places are well connected via frequent bus and taxi services. The Indore railway station is 11 km from the airport. Udaipur Airport, also known as Maharana Pratap Airport (IATA: UDR), serves the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan. It is located about 22 km east of the city. The airport has been named after Maharana Pratap, a famous ruler of the Mewar region. Maharana Pratap Airport's new terminal opened for business in February 2008. There is a single boarding gate on the ground level of the airport's domestic terminal, and on the first level, there are two aerobridges.
