Agartala Airport, also known as Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport (IATA Code: IXA), is a domestic airport located 12 km southeast of Agartala city. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur constructed the airport in 1942. It is the second-busiest airport in northeast India.
