Vidyanagar Airport (IATA: VDY), also referred to as Jindal Vijaynagar Airport, is a public airport near Toranagallu in Karnataka. The airport is situated in Sandur Taluk, 40 km from Bellary, within the Jindal Vijayanagar Steels Complex. The airport has a 1,592-metre runway and operates a limited number of domestic flights. Jindal Vijaynagar gets its name from the firm Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Ltd (JVSL), which amalgamated with JSW Steel in 2005. Previously a private landing strip for JVSL personnel, the airport was refurbished in December 2006 to accept its first commercial aircraft, serving tourism and corporate interests in the Bellary District.
