Casino House Boats

The house boat is beautiful, a very different experience from the usual stays at hotels. Rooms are ok for a nuclear family. They take short rides in afternoon from 1.30 pm to 7pm. Also in the evening, you can take an optional detour to a small river village (like Venice) on a rented small boat which costs around Rs 300 per head. The food served on the houseboat is exceptional and very tasty. AC is switched on only after 9pm and runs till 8am the next day. All in all a must have experience while on a holiday with your friends or family.

BOOK A 5 OR 7 STAR HOTEL INSTEAD OF ANY BOAT. ITS JUST A HYPE BY VLOGGERS ETC. DONOT PAY MORE THAN 4K. Have booked southern cruise boat (Casino or Discovery) on 6th October, 2023 with size of 11 rooms after watching the boat physically in person, a day prior. Reasons for 2 star rating : 1. We booked it offline and they showed us a different boat while booking , but on the day of boarding , the houseboat provided was different and was of poor quality (6 bedroom). We selected the room left on first come first basis. 2. Rooms were not new, old bedsheets, mosquitoes in the room, washrooms were ok ok and door was loose, towels were not good. 3. They started the boat at 1:45- 2:00 pm. 4. The boat roamed nearby for almost half hour at a slow speed of 10kmph and then they parked the boat for lunch. The boat was parked for one hour in the middle of water. The boat again started at 3:30 pm and was running for half hour with same slow speed. 5. It again parked at 4 pm. At 4 pm, there was a village tour in a small boat (shikara without sunshade and laid with ants and cockroaches!!!) which charged around 300rs pp extra. 6. We came back at 5 pm and had chai, onion pakodas and biscuits. Timing of small boat is scorching sun between 4-5pm. It could have been 5 to 6pm to enjoy the sunsets on shikara small boat. The boat again started at 6.10pm and  they parked it at around 300 mts from the boarding place in the north side of the google maps at 6:45pm. That was the halting point for the day. They also take electricity for turning the ac here. 7. No AC and it's extremely hot in the boat to stay. So always book full time ac boat and never ever think of 9 to 6 ac. Full time ac means no ac for hall but room. 8. Overall the boat moved for hardly 2-2.5 hours and they charged 6k from us. Note -- We have checked with other people and they booked it in 5k or 4.5k rate. We paid 6k. This experience is not listed here just for the sake of 1k. We have travelled in many countries in europe and south east asia too and we travel for min 11-15 days. Please do not pay more than 5k for the houseboat as this is the actual rate. Strict No Without full day AC (pay only 1k extra for full time ac). They actually dont bother if you leave. Better to go for shikara rides for 2-3 hours and stay in a good hotel. These boats of deluxe or ultra-deluxe  are not good enough. In the night nothing is much visible and you just sleep at 9pm in small room. Food quality was neither too great and nor too bad. Lunch -  Dal, rice, sambhar, roti 2 dry sabzi, dahi, fried 🐠 fish Dinner - Candle light on table with disco light - Roti, 2 dry sabzi, same dal mixed with water (no food wastage that was good thing), same dahi mixed with veggies for raita, chicken curry. Breakfast - idli, omellete, jam bread butter, upma, pineapple cuts, tea, coffee was bad not strong at all plus not at all milky. Car parking is seperate Rs 100 and will be taken by the person who parks your vehicle near his home. This is the detailed review, if you like it then do it and experience yourself.
