L' Amby Bay Beach House

There are equal pros and cons. Let me list the pros first:- Pros:- 1. Value for money - for a spacious beach view room in Pondicherry which could be booked at short notice. 2. Spacious room with appropriate amenities. They had taken care of even minor stuff like room freshener, door mat at the threshold of bathroom( this is one stuff missing even in luxury resorts at Muscat), aesthetic appeal.... 3. Had a great feeling of being welcomed 4. Nominal scooty rental without security deposit ( Wow!!!) 5. Could view the lashing of waves on the rocks and the morning sunrise!!! Thrilling! It first felt like it was the best decision we ever made considering the perfect location of the property- which was bang on the beach! But wait for something more Cons:- 1. We had tried reaching out( calling )the property prior to our arrival 12 times. No one answered. So we had to contact Agoda customer care ( in Hongkong and the customer care person's English accent was far from understanding) after managing to convey our concern in the second attempt, he spoke to the property's owner and then we could confirm our room( Not a great experience) 2. Exactly at 12 am ( we were in deep sleep) there was a very loud conversation and some one was singing right outside our door in the worst cacophonic voice possible using a mike and a loud speaker. And 2 strangers were drinking alcohol and eating- leaning against our room wall, outside- talking loudly. Being disturbed from sleep, when we went to the reception, we were shocked to find there was no security or reception people. So we had to deal with this situation ourselves and had to tell them to stop this so that we could try and get some sleep. Luckily the singer stopped his so called singing for the night but continued in the morning from 8 am to 10.30 am ( in a horrible voice that too all 80s love failure songs). Felt like crying and laughing at the same time considering the weirdly ridiculous situation 😅 3. Third issue is there was no security person deployed at the property! Please beware of this risk! 4. We were assured that breakfast would be served at 9 am( which itself is late) but was provided with breakfast at 10.10 am. Not even beverages were provided till then. ( So incase you are planning to stay please carry tea/ coffee packets, milk powder and sugar to appease your morning hunger pang if you are an early riser) These things were not provided in the room. Though there was an electric kettle. 4. TV wasn't working. When we told the rarely to be found receptionist, he said he will send some one by that time we checked out . No one came to trouble shoot the tv for 5 hours.( We didn't spend much time in the room so it was okay for us) So that's it folks!!! 2.7/ 5 - the rating for our experience!
