        Very bad experience! I had booked Poppys Pleasant Stay in Kodaikanal a month in advance, however it turned out to be an unpleasant experience! Before we could reach Kodaikanal today, around 10 am, I got a service call from the hotel asking if we had arrived, and if not, then how long would it take us to reach. I said that we were very close to Kodaikanal and it would take another hour or so to reach. I was so happy to talk to them because we hardly see hotel reception staff calling these days to check on their customers' arrival. After reaching Kodaikanal Bus Stand, I called them back to confirm my arrival and they said there is some bad news for me. When asked to share the details, the receptionist explained that there was some problem with the water pipe and due to leakage, two of their hotel rooms (including mine) were in a bad condition. They said they will get me a replacement room in a nearby hotel, which would be in an excellent condition. After making us wait for about an hour, they shared pictures of an independent house and called to confirm if we were okay with the room and if agreed, they would provide a pick up service from the bus stand. By listening to their story, I had no choice but to refuse going to that house (which they termed as a 'hotel') and asked them to refund my advance amount and connect me to the hotel's owner so that I could share my grievance. They refunded my advance amount within a short while and said that my phone number has been shared with the hotel owner. While I'm writing this review now, it is already evening here (6:10 pm), and no owner has called me yet. May God bless the hotel and their staff! EDIT- The owner (Mr. Rajesh) called me at 7:40 pm, and apologized for the situation. Since he assured me that he will investigate the case and take action accordingly, the overall rating has been changed from 1* to 2*, to remain fair with their treatment.

        Reception staff very helpful specially Mr. Prashant. Rooms are clean and adequately furnished. Needs were attended too. Restaurant is not part of the hotel although attached to it. It is average. Nights are cold. Extra blankets provided if needed. Room heater available at Rs. 500+GST.

        This is a warning message before booking please take it seriously. Please don't book this hotel. We had a very bad experience here. The pathetic washroom they have in all rooms. My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon at Kodaikanal. We faced a leakage problem in the washroom and requested to change the room still the same issue was there. Literally spillage water dripping on the head. Flushes of toilet not working, wifi not working, intercom not working and the worst part is room is not having any ventilation the room windows you cannot keep open because of obviously unpleasant view. Again saying don't book. It's not worth the cost and 4 stars is a big joke. I'll pay for camping tents rather than this 🤣

        I had a very unpleasant experience here. Not at all recommended for people on workation. The wifi was not good enough. I had a word with the manager for cancelling the rest of the stay. He agreed and never returned a single penny after multiple emails and followups. Not recommended for travellers. may be good for local weddings n all. but not a tourist place

        This is certainly not a 4star hotel. Staff was not even dressed like a 4star hotel. It is more like a guest house. Their electricity is controlled manually. We were there only for a couple of hours and we experienced blackout several times. The staff was trying their best to convince us by showing bigger rooms after rooms. It makes no difference from their smaller rooms. Didn't feel the good vibes when we where there. We decided not to stay. Please dont blindly grade your hotel as 4star. 😡

          Booking Policy
          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
          The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
          Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.
          If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.
          Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
          Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.
          The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.
          Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.
          Guests are required to adhere to any special instructions provided by the hotel. Failure to comply may result in the hotel's right to deny the booking or terminate the stay immediately.

          Hotel Cancellation Policy
          User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.
          Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.
          User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.
          Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.
          Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.
          If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.
          In case of no show at the hotel, you'll be charged the entire booking amount.

          Modification and Reschedule Policy
          Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.
          After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
