Summit Bougainvillea Tea Resort

Absolutely disappointing. Worse stay ever. Staff shows attitude like they own the place. The food service & the overall service is pathetic. Entire staff needs to be changed for this place to even operate. Rooms are extremely small compared to the online photos. It ends as soon as you enter. Please do not pay more than 2500 inc taxes for this property. Not worth it and walk in guest are getting it in half the price and they have charged 9000 from us which is absolutely not worth it and half of the time kitchen is also closed.

So my review starts on the basis of my pre-arrival experience. A day before my arrival, I was called by the hotel to ask my arrival time which was around 7PM. I had booked for 2 premium rooms with balcony (One on double occupancy and one on triple occupancy). I asked them what the arrangement would be for the third occupancy and I was told it would be an extra bed. So I requested that the same gets placed before our arrival as we would only arrive late in the evening and may want to sleep early. The next morning on the day of the arrival I was called again, same conversation. I arrived in the hotel at around 7PM. Not really in Kurseong and quite far from the main areas to look at. But it's pleasant and quiet there. Except, the roads are too steep to reach, but that is understandable. After arriving I was asked to pay the remaining share of the room which I did. However, the hotel was not exactly sure of how much I had to pay (They estimated about 4-5k more than the amount due) but luckily I had the details from the hotel as I had directly booked from the website. After clarification that was cleared. When I went to the room, the extra bed was not added so I went down to inform them. It took a while to understand what I was saying or concerned about but after a while they figured out which room had to get one and they shared they would send one across. With the stay, we had purchased a breakfast and dinner BUFFET. So I asked them where the buffet would be, only to find out that there is no dinner buffet but a set menu. It wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't misinformed. Either way, we headed for dinner and asked them to get the extra bed placed while we were away. The dinner was great, no complaints there. The food was great and the staff were kind and accommodating. I wish the portions were smaller as we are small eaters but great anyway. We got our little private space because there was no one else in the restaurant that early, so it was nice. Once done, headed back to the room. Not an extra bed but a mattress was placed on the floor (Probably the hardest one ever) with a blanket you get on Rajdhani trains. Anyway, I did not say anything as I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. But, for the same amount of price as the bed, that was NOT acceptable. The rooms were smaller than they look, they had no WARDROBE. Probably the most basic thing you can ask for (And their website especially mentioned a wardrobe for this category of room). One of the two rooms did not have a well functioning geyser so all of us showered in the same room one after the other. The breakfast the next day was okay. The view was nice but my experience didn't exactly let me "Enjoy" it. But the staff work really hard and we had seen the same 4 people throughout our stay. Overall the experience was just disappointing and I would never pay this amount if I knew what it would be like. The "Resort" can call itself a motel at best. If they don't drop their prices, do not bother. Don't stay at Kurseong or try a homestay instead. The two stars are only out of respect for the staff and the dinner we ate otherwise my experience wouldn't even get 1 star.
