The Farmville

FarmVille: A Frustrating Experience Myself and a friend with our families recently had the unfortunate experience at FarmVille, a resort located near Kodaikanal. We booked two Mountain Chalet category cottages a month in advance and paid ₹5000 towards it, having seen their reviews, pictures, and vlogs. On the day of check-in, we received a call from Mr. Anil, the manager of the facility, to confirm our arrival. We were all, especially the kids, extremely excited to arrive at the resort after an off-road journey. However, our excitement shattered upon arrival. Despite our booking confirmation voucher, the resort only had one Mountain Chalet cottage reserved for us. They played nicely with us in ignorance mode, and when we asked them to look at the voucher, they said that due to a technical error at their end, only one cottage was reserved and the rest were already occupied. They asked us to refresh at the available cottage (4 adults and 4 kids) and provided tea and coffee. However, nothing happened even after a long wait of two hours. They tried to convince us to take another cottage located nearby, but we had booked the Mountain Chalet cottages only for the ambiance they had at this resort. We conveyed the same to them and requested a refund of the booking amount. To keep us waiting, they further told us to have dinner and that they were seemed like exploring options to get us the booked cottages. However, nothing happened again. Finally, we agreed to their last option of staying in a villa close to the city for the rest of the night. We reached this so-called consolation room at 11:30 PM for our family vacation planned a month in advance. Note: I have been thinking not to write this review because of the resort staff's behavior. However, I am still not able to forget this bitter experience we had at this place. The resort location was awesome, the staff were good, and the package was also good, albeit on the higher side. However, they treated us badly by not considering our booking and ruined our trip to Kodaikanal, especially for my daughter, who was very eager to stay here after seeing their videos online.
