Villa Park

We had visited Mysore during Diwali 2023, from 12th to 13th November and had stayed at Villa Park Inn. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Decent budget hotel located in the center of Mysore. Major attractions are near by. 2. We had booked this hotel in the last minute as we had earlier planned to visit Hassan during that time but our plans hot cancelled as the hotel at hassan suddenly cancelled our booking. So thanks to Villa Park for last minute accommodation. 3. Rooms were spacious . We had booked two rooms and one was a triple occupancy. This room had an overlooking small balcony. 4. Tea and coffee satchets and mineral water bottles (500 ml) were provided in the room. 5. Bathroom was clean and had some toiletteries. 6. Lunch and snacks room service was prompt. 7. Indian cuisines were ok- both in taste and quantity. Milkshakes were good. Cons: 1. Room and Bathroom were separated by a half wall half transparent glass window . Thankfully there was a curtain for this glass portion. People inside the room can see the person in bathroom. No privacy. Don't see the purpose of such window. 2. In the morning, for hot water in the bathroom, you have to spill atleast two buckets of cold water before hot water starts coming in the tap. 3. Lift wasn't working and they didn't mention it till.we.checked in. Our rooms were on the second floor and climbing them was like rock climbing. My parents who were senior citizens had difficult time. Lift worked when we were checking out!!! Hope this is a stray incident. 4. Breakfast was not buffet. They have limited menu for complimentary breakfast. Differential treatment for outside customers and those staying in the hotel. They would offer prompt service only to outside customers. Food was average and oily. Even idlis were not fully cooked. We asked for coffee and we regretted that as it took a long time, multiple reminders, peep into the kitchen, before our coffee came. 5. Don't order Chinese items. They are horrible. Stick with Indian cuisines. Above all this, if you are dog lover, then don't miss to meet Mr. Rocky. 😉 He is a real charmer, adorable , playful and human friendly and of course the reason for posting my review with Pros and Cons.

I gotta say , Mysore Villa Park is really well above my expectation. Room was spacious, well cleaned and the staffs were nice. I had to reduce 1 star , because they need to improve their parking system. When we reached the hotel , the underground parking was full so I had to park my car outside of hotel which I didn’t like. I would highly recommend this place to anyone nevertheless.
