About Hyderabad Airport

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) (IATA: HYD, ICAO: VOHS) is an international airport in Hyderabad, the capital of the Indian state of Telangana. The airport was launched on March 23, 2008, to replace Begumpet Airport, which was the sole civilian airport serving Hyderabad. It is named after Indian leader Rajiv Gandhi. The airport is five kilometres (three miles) wide and covers an area of 5,500 acres (2,200 ha). The airport is run by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), a public-private consortium. The airport was opened to replace Begumpet Airport, which was the sole civilian airport serving Hyderabad.

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is India's first greenfield airport built under a public-private partnership model. A passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and two runways are found in the airport.

About Hyderabad

Telangana is one of India's most technologically advanced states, with Hyderabad as its capital. Bagyanagaram was the old name of this city. Due to the significant amount of pearl trading that occurs from this region of the state, this city is also known as the "city of pearls." Hyderabad was laid out on a grid with the Charminar at its centre when it was founded in 1591. With the addition of a new town north of the Musi River, the Military Cantonment at Secunderabad, and a thriving high-tech Estate known as "Cyberabad," it has now expanded far beyond the boundaries of the original walled city. This District, which houses the State capital, is highly developed in every way. The government made the policy choice to restructure the lower-level administrative set-up in the state, and as a result, Revenue Mandal was established with the goal of bringing the administration to the doorsteps of the people in order to solve their concerns and improve the populace.
