About Miri Airport

Miri International Airport (MYY) serves the city of Miri in the state of Sarawak in East Malaysia. It is the third-busiest airport in Malaysia in aircraft movements, serving over 1.5 million passengers per year. It was constructed to relieve the traffic at Lutong Airport and became fully functional post-1980s.

The domestic flights operating here are Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines, and MASwings, and the international flights are operated by Scoot and Air Asia.

Sarawak controls its own immigration autonomy. The exercised laws require all passengers travelling with any flights from outside Sarawak to go through the immigration screening at the first entry of any Sarawakian airport.

Miri International Airport is located 10 km south of the city centre. Airport Taxi Counters are located outside of the baggage claim area. One-way taxi fares from the airport are fixed. Purchase a coupon at the taxi counter and proceed to the taxi stand outside the terminal. Transfers to and from the airport can also be booked online, making the process quick and easy to follow!

Banks, internet access, public telephones, cafes, restaurants, duty-free shops, pharmacies, multi-purpose meeting and event centres, wheelchair services, staff assistance, ATMs, luggage facilities, and post offices are all available at the airport.

About Miri

Miri, located on a narrow coastal plain between the South China Sea and a series of low, crumbly hills, was once a cowboy village where people came primarily in search of oil. It is said that Malaysia's petroleum industry began in Miri, which grew into a thriving, vibrant, and modern town before being granted city status in 2005.The city has a population of around 350,000 people, making it Sarawak's second-largest city after Kuching. The ethnic composition of the population is roughly 40% Dayak, 30% Chinese, and 18% Malay. Miri will appeal to anyone who wants the convenience of a city without chaos, overcrowding, or pollution. The city's welcoming guest houses are ideal for meeting other travellers and exploring modern cafes, restaurants, and bars.Miri is the main tourist entry point for several wildlife attractions. The world-famous Gunung Mulu National Park, which includes the Sarawak Chamber (the world's largest cave - a UNESCO World Heritage Site), is one of Sarawak's most popular eco-tourism destinations and is only 30 minutes away by air. Miri is also the main entry point for Loagan Bunut National Park (Sarawak's largest natural lake), Lambir National Park (the world's 12th most biodiverse site), and Niah National Park, which has spectacular caves and waterfalls.

About Kuala Lumpur Airport

Malaysia is a maze of 39 airports- 6 international, 16 domestic, and 18 airport aerodromes—that can easily accommodate the growing tourist demands. The award-winning Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), located 50 km from Kuala Lumpur, is the main and largest airport, handling approximately 35 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per day.

The five-storey, ten-gate Kuala Lumpur International Airport has two main terminals, KLIA1 and KLIA2, from which several domestic and internal airlines operate. The airport began operations in 1988, with the second low-cost carrier terminal added in 2014. Both terminals are about 1.5 km apart and can be reached in three minutes by train. If you arrive at Subang Sky Park (SZB) Airport, another popular airport in Kuala Lumpur, the journey from Terminal 3 of SZB to KLIA1 or KLIA2 will take about 45 minutes.

Taxis are the best way to get into and out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport. With traffic in mind, allow an hour to travel from the airport to nearby areas such as Bukit Bintang or Kuala Lumpur City Center. If you want to avoid traffic, use KLIA Express or KLIA Transit.

The airport provides amenities such as a food court, charging stations, prayer rooms, shower facilities, baby rooms, buggy services, airport wifi, ATM, currency exchange, and a smoking lounge. It is also a disabled-friendly airport with a calm room, sensory wall, and butterfly kits.

About Kuala-lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is known as a melting pot of Southeast Asia, and the many different races and cultures that make up the city, make it a vibrant place to visit. Here, you will find colourfully adorned mosques and temples of the country’s Malay, Chinese and Indian communities, steel-clad skyscrapers, lush parks, mega-sized shopping malls, bustling street markets, and lively nightspots. Kuala Lumpur had only been in existence for a few decades when the British made it the capital of Peninsular Malaysia in the late nineteenth century, erecting grand colonial buildings. It has since taken centre stage in Malaysian history. People here are friendly, and the majority of them speak English.Malaysian consumer culture reaches its pinnacle in Kuala Lumpur, where you can spend all day shopping for designer fashion and bargains at glitzy air-conditioned malls like Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, and Mid Valley Megamall. On the cultural front, it hosts one of the most incredible festivals on the planet, the Thaipusam Festival, which takes place in January at Batu Caves and attracts over one million visitors. With plenty of options for food, head to the famed Petaling Street and Jalan Alor or to the Pudu Food Street (Pudu Wai Sek Kai), for a truly local food experience.

Kuala Lumpur has a large (though inefficiently integrated) network of overland trains, elevated trains, and a monorail.
