AC Hotel by Marriott San Diego Downtown Gaslamp Quarter

I stayed with my family here last March, about one week after they opened. I didn’t leave a review back then because we just chalked things up to it being new and needing to work out the bugs. However, during a conversation with my family recently, my mom was shocked when I said that it was basically impossible to fall asleep because the music from Mr. Tempo was so loud. She then asked my sister who said the same thing. Out of curiosity I decided to check the reviews to see if they had resolved the issue. They have not apparently. If you’re going to San Diego to party and bar hop and 1000% don’t mind music so loud that the walls, floor, and beds vibrate- then this hotel is for you. If, however, you cannot fall asleep with a continuous dance beat thumping for hours into the night, I would stay elsewhere. The crazy part is, I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere, within minutes of laying down. That being said, the staff was incredibly nice and the service was good.

Hotel was amazing. Great location and top-of-the-line finishes. Not to mention the maintenance was unbelievable. I feel like I walked into a brand new hotel. The guest services were so quick to bring me anything I needed, and the valet although very busy was very quick and friendly. we ate dinner at the Ac lounge and bar. The food was not great,it was very “corporate” but the view and the service really made up for it. also, it was myself, my wife, two kids and an infant. We were here for a cheer competition. The 2 issues I had was 1. the front desk staff. They were very pretentious and unfriendly. I get way better service at your standard Marriott hotel. On 2 separate encounters with them their service was bellow par. 2. I had a fraudulent charge at the hotel on my card on file. I didnt use my physical card at the hotel at all during my stay. So not sure how someone got a hold of this info. Thank God for fraud alerts.
