I love this hotel and the sister hotel in the next street (Agora Kyoto Shijo). The service is great for the cost and the rooms are well maintained. I personally loved the huge bed (2 beds together) and the TV. You get the chance to relax after a long day, take a nice shower and just sink into bed and watch your favourite shows. Feels like a home away from home. I highly recommend for people who value a good night sleep 😴.

Service was beyond expectation, very kind and welcoming. Luggage transfer to another hotel was completely organized and executed smoothly. Rooms were small but very well equipped. Location ideal for strolls to the Nishiki market and more. Bus station within 100m distance, underground below 500 m. Definitely a place to come back. We booked the hotel restaurant and were excited about the 7 course menu in a nicely private atmosphere.

The Agora Kyoto Karasuma is, simply, one of the best urban hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The rooms (I had one with twin beds) are small but fully furnished and clean. In the room, as in all other parts in the hotel, there is a simple and soothing atmosphere. Add to this its affordability, complimentary drinks in the lobby, and the walkability of both shopping streets, bars, restaurants and heritage hotspots and it really is a rare find. The only thing I would say is that the breakfast, which comes in a box and contains a strange fusion of 'british', Japanese and French items, is merely passable in quality and quite pricey. This is easily mitigated by finding breakfast somewhere else (there are mini- and supermarkets within a 1 minute walk).

The hotel was great, rooms were in great condition and beautiful. Only some comments for people of thinking of staying there: it is not in the most beautiful area of Kyoto the area has a more corporate feel and most of the places to visit are somewhere else. Also, some of the staff(not Japanese) were not so helpful at our arrival. Everything else went smoothly.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at. It has a modern feel with slight reminiscence of a traditional Japanese style inn. The hotel felt luxurious, comfortable and clean. The location was central and the service was great. Would definitely stay here again

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.
