        Housed within an historic former insurance building, with vast high ceilings and surrounded by other impressive buildings. Staff at reception and breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Not keen on the sliding door for the bathroom however. Great location for a short stay in the city centre with a host of bars and restaurants nearby and only a few mins walk to the docks and liver buildings.

        Lovely grand hotel in a great location. Staff at reception were very helpful and welcoming. Room was clean and tidy with a few nice touches inc. Toiletries and refreshments. What stood out to me about this hotel was it had a gym. It's not a huge gym but there's enough there for a small workout before heading off for the day. Breakfast was good. Nice spread of fresh fruit and pastries as well as the cooked breakfast section. Would stay again.

        Went for a works' Christmas meal with colleagues here this year as it is conveniently located in the city centre. The venue looks amazing inside and out and quite upmarket. We didn't stay at the hotel, so can't comment on the rooms. The atmosphere in the bar area within the very large ground floor room was, however, somewhat lacking, despite the beautiful historic/modern decor mix, ambient lighting mix, and live DJ. Unfortunately the service and quality of food also did not live up to the expectations of our group of 25'ish people. I hope to visit again, perhaps under different circumstances in the future to re-evaluate.

        Great hotel in Liverpool City area. No great views from room but clean and modern. Staff friendly and would stay again. Lovely architecture in the building.

        Stayed for a night. The hotel is inside an impressive old insurance building with great features in the communal areas. We liked the free library and pool as our room was being prepared. The rooms (we got to try two) are very dark and not very large. We had issues with lighting, USB sockets, Ironing Board and some other bits. Nothing huge but lots of little things start to annoy. We got moved from the 1st floor to the 5th, the city views were really nice and we appreciated the staff trying to help. As a Marriott member, I stay in lots of hotels and this is certainly in the bottom half in my opinion. It’s really centrally located, 10 mins from the train station and ever central site is walkable. Just a little tired and requires tweaks. Would rate as a decent 3 star.
