Great service, really clean rooms and just an overall amazing experience…. Is what I would say if the place wasn’t operated by an absolutely rude and hopeless manager who cannot communicate properly to their guests. The rooms were absolutely awful - it already had existing damages before we even entered the room, including the air conditioner not working ON A HOT DAY, and the room ultimately had a bad smell. We were unable to receive our bond back as the hotel manager claimed that we were responsible for the damage of the room. We have repeatedly told the manager that not one person in our group were in the rooms except for when we first checked in and when some of us slept in after midnight. How would we have been able to cause such proclaimed damage if we were not in the already poorly conditioned room at any other time? We have tried our best to be calm about the situation, but if dealing with such a rude and cowardly manager who never spoke a word to us, and used his staff to communicate, we have no choice but to take this situation further. The manager even threatened us to leave a 0.5 review if possible. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay here. There are plenty of other places to stay in Melbourne that are much more accommodating and professional.

Short version - disappointing stay at what used to be a lovely hotel. Very significant housekeeping issues. Little effort made to fix the problem with distinctly lacking apology. Won’t stay again unless management issues are resolved. Long version - visiting Melbourne with my 5 year old. On check in to our 2 bedroom apartment), i discovered a wet towel behind the bathroom door and the bathroom bin not emptied - I called housekeeping and a rather grumpy lady came to fix the problem. She then said “anything else wrong”? I hadn’t notice anything at that point but then noticed bathroom cups with toothpaste dribble in them. After she left I thought I would check the kitchen - to find 4 out of 5 bowls in the cupboard were dirty; before I had time to call, the manager arrived with 2 cleaners asking me to show him where the problems were. After i explained about the now fixed bathroom, I asked him to replace the bowls. Instead he made the staff handwash them in the room (and then all other crockery) while I was standing there. Only then did he use the word sorry. By this point I was quite concerned the room hadn’t been properly cleaned before check in but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt having previously had a good stay there. That night i checked the bedding to discover 2 blood stains on the duvet in my bedroom! As it was late there were no staff available so I informed them the next day - no apology or offer of anything at all to make up for the hassle and general horror! This was our second time staying at this hotel and it will be our last unless a change in management occurrs — very disappointing as the location is very good.

This was certainly not a 4-star experience or tranquil oasis, as advertised. My room was very noisy, with a constant thud from the pub opposite until the early hours. The shower was also stone-cold. There were some cute features, but please don’t oversell this place as more special than it really is!

Very good location, near Southern Cross Station, Spencer Outlet Centre and tram lines. However the hotel is dated and our room had quite a number of maintenance issues. The roller doors in the main bedroom were unhinged and could not slide. The oven door could not be closed shut. Quite a bit of wear and tear. Reported the issues and for the next 5 days we were there, nothing was done to fix the issues. For the amount paid, we expected better service. The hotel management needs to focus on making sure the rooms are well maintained.

Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago for one night. We found a couple of our rooms were not up to standard with them already being damaged on check-in. After checking out, we weren't given back our bond of $200 as the manager deemed us responsible for the damages. We were later told that we won't be getting it back. Besides this issue, the rooms themselves were nothing to write home about. They're not as great as advertised to be and some of them even had a mouldy smell. Do yourself a favour and pick a different hotel to stay at, the management at this place doesn't deserve your money. Never experienced customer service this bad before. Advice anyone staying here to take photos of any damage in their rooms upon check-in and report to the reception. Good luck!
