Americas Best Value Inn NRG Park Medical Center

The location is top-notch, that's for sure (if you're looking for something close to the NRG stadium, it's only about a 5 min walk from there). There is a bit of a transient problem in the area though. It's not the hotel's fault by any means, and I can tell they are trying their best with what they have. There are warning signs in the rooms advising guests not to open the door to anyone they don't know, so they are making an effort. Lots of restaurants within walking distance as well (the Jollibee is right behind the hotel). Anyway, the rooms themselves are pretty basic, you can tell they are a little older. It was clean though, and they give you some soaps and plenty of towels. It's perfect for a one-night stay or for the weekend. It's not fancy by any means, just basic. There is a mini fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was also okay. Eggos, cereal, milk, packaged pastries, coffee, and juice. Nothing fancy, but it doesn't have to be. It's a little ghetto, but I didn't feel unsafe. Oh, the parking lot was a bit of a pain to get out of in the morning because they close the back gate. You can't pull your car out the other way with those other cars behind you so you have to drive backwards and try to turn around in their little parking lot. ^^;;;

I normally don't stay at motels but booked through priceline because we were going to the Houston Rodeo and the hotel prices were OUTRAGEOUS! It was a 10 minute walk to the nrg stadium and I didn't feel unsafe while walking back that night. The front desk staff was so nice. The room was clean and looked like brand new carpet, furniture and bedding. The only gripe I have is I was told on the phone before arrival that the shuttle was available until 5pm, when we went to see for a shuttle at the front desk we were told it stopped at 4pm. So we were unable to use the service because it was 4:50.
