        I stayed at Apollo for a few nights during a business trip. Really pleasant stay from start to finish, including earlier check in ensured by the staff so that I can attend business meetings that day, very clean room, super comfortable bed, the room had everything that you might need, beautiful view of the canal, and more. On top of that, the staff was very polite and attentive at all times. The restaurant and the cafe are exceptional. The only thing that can be improved is the heating system, as the radiator warms up a bit slower than it would be desired, but this by no means affects he overall pleasant stay.

        I recently stayed at the Apollo Hotel Amsterdam on business and, unfortunately, my experience was marred by an incident involving my high-value earphones and the hotel's subsequent handling of the situation. I left my £229 / €254 earphones at the table of the hotel's restaurant on my first night, having spent in excess of 90 euros there as one of the last diners in the evening. The next morning when I noticed I did not have my earphones in my possesion, I raised this with the front desk, who said they had not been handed in. It took an astonishing 48 hours for them to be returned to me, a delay that I found both incomprehensible and unacceptable. In my extensive travels and stays at luxury hotels worldwide, I have never encountered such a lapse in basic service standards. The lack of immediate action and a rather tepid response from the hotel staff led me to believe that this was not just an oversight but a deliberate act of negligence, if not outright theft. The failure to promptly address this issue showed a severe disregard for guest security and property. Additionally, the hotel refused to consider an additional booked night, which I was unable to use due to early departure, as potential compensation for this inconvenience. This would have been a reasonable gesture of goodwill under the circumstances but was unfortunately disregarded. I felt compelled to escalate this matter to Marriott International, given the substandard service and questionable ethics I experienced at one of their affiliated properties. While the Apollo Hotel Amsterdam may have its merits, my personal experience was deeply disappointing. This incident significantly undermined my confidence in the hotel, leading me to decide not to patronise it again. I believe it is essential for potential guests to be aware of the level of service and potential risks they may encounter at this establishment.

        I was very impressed with the guest experience at this hotel. The whole of the hotel is furnished to a high standard with a great ambience. The bedrooms also reflect this with everything being clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet was to a high standard. Lunch in the Harbour Club was fresh food, presented well, with high quality ingredients. I also received exceptional service from the staff.
