        My first time to be in Kyoto and this cozy hotel is no more than 30 mins away from the famous spots. The owner gave us a welcoming chocolate for the new year. Also the staff were very friendly (mostly Filipinos) and can speak English as well.

        Travelled to Japan for the first time in March with my friend and this hotel is soo foreigner friendly. The hotel owner is fluent in English and has history in the USA. Super kind and friendly. On the last day I had purchased a ticket to an amusement park but didn't have time to go. The owner offered to go instead and pay the ticket for me!! She even offers to call a taxi to check prices and recommends to go train instead if its cheaper and gives great directions. Really recommend this hotel for especially English speaking foreigners and whoever else that needs a hotel. It's very clean and the bathroom is a little small, but the owner is super nice and gives great service. Absolutely amazing experience and great price.

        Absolutely amazing stay at this cute hotel. Clean, cosy room in a great location. No more than 30 mins away from any major attraction in Kyoto. The service was second to none. I left my phone in Hiroshima train station and the staff went out of their way to call and found a way to find my lost phone which was finally returned to me in Tokyo! Thank you ATO hotel!!!

        The hotel is clean, comfort bed. Fast wifi .The manager and the crew are so helpful.you can keep your luggages after checkout and take it before 6 pm , Can borrow umbrella for free. Near from station and bus stops, you can reach the gion and all the market on gion just by walk.. you have to try ramen miyako gion 😁

        Great location, seconds from the metro line (can't use JR Pass on it tho). Rooms are an ok size for 1 person, but possibly too small for 2. Toilets are traditional style instead of the hi-tech bidet style which is a bit annoying. Fridge is tiny (big enough to fit 2 small bottles) and doesn't really work well. Beds are very comfy and air con works great. Standard shower connected to sink tap as in most japanese hotels. Staff are delightful, friendly and very responsive. Enjoyed my stay in Hotel ATO - Arigato gozaimasu!

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
          The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

          If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.
