Luxury African Adventure at its best. Experience the wild outdoors whilst sitting on a patio sipping cocktails. Two local water holes, one within arms reach of the dining area, ensure sightings all day long. Another Water hole further into the bush accessed by an underground tunnel. Two beautiful pools, one for the kids with a waterslide and various amenities including table tennis and walk around chess. The other pool is quieter set nearer the dining room and next to a fully stocked bar. Every time we go it's better than the last time, and probably not as good as the next time.

The rooms are average. Not luxurious but comfortable. Bathroom rather small. Ours was quite far to walk to from the main area. Service was generally good, we only encountered one or two staff that were somewhat rude but most staff were very friendly and attentive. The location is great as you don't need to even leave the lodge to see wildlife. We had close up elephant sightings every day. Food is fairly good. My only complaint is seeing plates of room service being left outside of rooms sometimes close to a whole day. It's not acceptable and they should have someone regularly collect plates and unfinished food. And always lack of spoons on table for breakfast and one lady seemed to get annoyed when we asked for one to eat our cereal.

The food and service are good but they are not maintaining the hide. The reeds, grass and bushes are obscuring the views. What's the point of having a hide if you cannot see the animals drinking?! The webcam is great - for the many not at the Lodge- but what about those of us in the hide? The previous GM, Gavin, would pick up litter outside the fence himself and make sure the grass in front of the hide was trimmed - he made sure his guests had a great experience. The current GM, Paul, when I ask him about the hide, gives me a sarcastic answer: "we are not allowed to chop down the trees". I didn't mention trees or chopping. Does he not understand the concept of cutting grass and pruning bushes to provide guests with great experience? He goes further, saying he is not responsible for the area outside the fence, the Park staff must tend to those things. The park staff cannot fix the roads so how are they going to trim the few bushes and reeds in front of the hide? Lions were drinking at the hide the past week, day and night - I didn't bother going to the hide - can you imagine what the images will look like! Check the photos I posted of the 'views' from the hide windows...

The room was perfectly laid out. Nice specious bathroom. Lovely covered patio. Nice view. Service throughout the hotel from entering till leaving was supper nice. We were treated like roalty in the restaurant. Thank you very much. Nice swimming pools. We have seen lots of wild life game with and without guided game drives. Lovely well presented food And the cherry on the top is the one tooth eliphant and his young follower and zebras and other animals that visit the pond while we have a meal only a few meters away from the restaurant. Stunning, lovely.
