Bella Vista Express Hotel Langkawi

Pros - You can get one of the best hotel rates in Langkawi. The room was spacious. I could open my luggage and still have more space to move around. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The balcony was facing the swimming pool. Can't complain about the view. The location is close to the airport and just 3 minutes drive to Laksa Ikan Sekoq. The hotel staff were all very friendly and responsive. Cons- It's an old hotel. The elevator was not working. Luckily, my room is just one floor up. The toilet may need renovation. The swimming pool is nicely located around big trees. However, the leaves fall into the pool. So nobody swims there during my 3 nights stay. Location wise, a bit far from Pantai Chenang and Pekan Kuah. Hence I had to rent a car for the whole trip. Also, there is no cafe for breakfast or anything. Just a convenience store and a Costa coffee machine available at the Lobby. Overall, I was a very satisfied guest and would recommend this hotel if you plan to have full day outing in Langkawi. Not recommended if you are looking for a resort style vacation.

Had my stay for 3 days 2 nights in June 2023. It says here 3 stars hotel but its worst than 1 star and I regretted my stay here. First, imagine you bring heavy bags and the lift was broken (i wonder how long it’s broken) and we have to go up to level 2. Second, the room had weird smell and weird position of toilet bowl and shower area. I bet housekeeping wasn’t done properly since carpet wasn’t provided and ONLY the bed was clean. The balcony don’t need mentioning as I didn’t even step foot there. Third, was excited for the pool till I went to see the pool with dirt and thrash inside 😭. Fourth, on my second day after outing when i finally reached my room i smelled very strong foul smelling stools! When i open the pipe, yes full of brown dirty water and suddenly no water coming out from the sink. Instantly we decided to go outside for a bath and when i told this issue the receiption, the reaction was just ‘Oh ye ke, tadi ada kerja maintainance’, I mean that’s it?? No apologies?? You have my number but didn’t tell beforehand?? At least a fragrant spray as i went through the rest of the stay with the foul smell? No, it did not fade easily! Btw, the phone in the room is just a decoration and you need to go up and down to see receiption. Lastly, can’t deny this place is indeed spooky. I mean you can just feel it even my partner was disturbed during sleep. If I had slightest hint I would never step inside here. Im not someone who usually complain but this experience made me really furious.
