        Good size but badly designed rooms. Dangerous step into bathroom, extractor fan running continuously, extremely slippery shower with no shower mat or non-slip surface and spots of mould. Toilet paper suitable for sandpaper! Not enough space to store toiletries. Uncontrollable air-conditioning, with no instructions. TV volume set to inaudible level. Clothes storage ugly and badly positioned when so much space available. No plug point or shelf near mirror. Only window looked out onto garden area with dumped equipment. Corridors to rooms decorated in colours more suitable to a dingy nightclub. Soundproofing very poor between floors and into corridor.

        Location is amazing. You can walk to and from centraal or catch a tram. Several delicious food options within a 5 minute walk. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast was simple but plenty to get your day going. Beds were made every day with a deep clean every few days. My only complaint is housekeeping kept switching our thermostat from automatic to heat so we would come back to the hotel and it would be hot for about an hour until everything cooled down.

        Don't be scared when you see the old hallways. They belie what's in the rooms. The rooms are clean and spacious and recently redone. Very modern and light. The food variety for breakfast is limited but it's enough and very good. It is simple cold fare; meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, yogurts and breads. They have excellent coffee! It's from a machine but it's from freshly ground beans and is so delicious. This place is central to so many things and is very close to the tram, which will take you anywhere in the city quickly. Also, the customer service was lovely. When we needed a special request they readily accommodated it and anytime we had a question or a need (like a taxi to the port) they set it up for us and were always friendly about it. Excellent hotel value.

        I stayed at the hotel during November 2023. The location is excellent and from the outside, the hotel sets high expectations. However, the facilities are very neglected. The hotel corridor has a strong musty smell and hasn't received a proper cleaning in a long time. The room I stayed in clearly hasn't been cleaned on the floor for a long time due to the amount of dust. It's not even possible to walk barefoot as the feet get covered in dirt. At breakfast, there are mosquitoes on the bread and cold cuts, not to mention the strong bad smell present in all areas of the hotel. The hotel has potential; it just needs better cleaning and maintenance. But in its current state, I do not recommend staying there.

        Hotel is rundown and old. Rooms are fine and mainly clean. Expensive for what you get. No fridge in the room is ridiculous? I would not return here again. Staff are friendly so can’t fault that.
