        Overall, it's okay. Full of character. We paid $180 for one night, one room with three beds. My friends arrived ahead of me and took the elevator up, I tried and the elevator did not work. Whilst we were there the elevator was sporadic if it worked or not. The ladies at reception were very chill, (which I think is fine) but others may consider that poor customer service. I took the stairs to the room which smelled very funny, like old Cooking. I lolled. The room itself, is lived in, a little tired but clean. Beds were clean, towels etc also. No qualms there. Beds were comfy, and pillows also. Shower pressure is pretty average, but okay. Unsure if id stay there again but it wasn't horrible. Overall, okay.

        The only good thing about the Boulevard is the location. Right from the when you arrive you will find used tampons and garbage in the parking lot. There isn’t any consistent on-site staff. There is a note to call the manager at the front desk if needed. There are bags of hotel linens everywhere. The fire exit door is broken on the main floor and cannot be opened. All of the carpets in the lobby and outside the elevator our floor are stained. Inside our room, the stench from the room fridge makes the entire room smell. The bathroom was kept clean. The fresh bed linens and bath towels were always clean. The closet only had two cheap plastic hangers. The closet safe could not be operated as there were no instructions. Front staff were difficult to get a hold of. Also, did not get back to us when we finally got in touch with them. The place runs more like a hostel and looks like it is six months away from going bankrupt (except they charge quite a bit for rooms). Better to stay across the street.

        Everything started out great, came into the property, cards were already made, room was ready, checked into our room, the room was nice and clean, a/c was great and cold. The next morning we noticed the water pressure in shower was weak and the sink came off from the counter and started leaking. We shut off the water and advised front desk. Hours went by and it was not addressed (think the pipes just needed tightening) we again reminded them about the sink but were advised that this would not be possible until the afternoon. We asked to change rooms. They changed us to the room next door and the air conditioning did not work and was not as clean. After some troubleshooting they could not figure out how to cool down the room. They offered to let us sleep in the room next door with the working a/c and use the bathroom in the room without a/c. Not the ideal solution but it worked. Hours later, Matthew came and advised us we weren't able to use both rooms and would have to stay in the room without the working a/c. By this time it was late and the room was starting to cool down because the temperature outside had cooled down so we thought the a/c started functioning and even extended for another night. After doing some sightseeing we came back and the room was a sauna! There was also noone in sight since they only work until 5p on sundays with a sign saying to call after hours. The hallsways were cooler than the room and we were unable to sleep!

        Poor customer service, especially in the form of checking in. The staff will not be able to get into contact with you unless you have a NZ SIM on hand to contact them. The reception is only partially open, so it is difficult to locate hotel staff if you are leaving before hours or checking in after hours. Inside the room: the bed was comfortable, the shower head kept dropping onto me as I was showering, that is a hazard. Glad that I avoided it in time. There is a nail which is half pointing out on the wall. I enquired about on-site parking. I was rudely told that there is parking and that 'I was already told so'. Not recommended for the stay. Glad that we only stayed for one night.

        I should have read the reviews for this hotel before i booked. First impressions were unmaintained grounds, rubbish and debris around the carpark. Entering the lobby, linen bags had been left lying around, the elevator reeked of cigarettes. Carpets, and chairs in our room were badly stained. Black mould on window surrounds. The worst part of our stay was poor customer service and cleanliness: I went to the reception to ask for coffee mugs and water glasses, the lady on reception returned with the mugs and said I would need to wash them before using. When i looked at the glasses they had dust and hair in the bottom of them, I told her I couldn't clean them as there was no dish soap in my room. I ended up just taking the mugs. The one glass in our room was dirty, had dregs of previous occupants drink in it and lipstick/grease on the glass. I would not recommended this place, unless you bring your own utensils!
