This is my new go-to place when I visit LA which is often. The location is ideal. Lots of restaurants are very walkable. The property is newly renovated and the gym and yoga room are perfect. What makes this hotel extra special, however, is the customer service. During my most recent stay in December, Analyn at the Front Desk and Richard, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great stay.

Great location. This location does not have a bellman, so you need to unload and load your items upon arrival and departure, and carry the items yourself. The valet will not help you. There was lots of construction being done, and as a result only one elevator was working so be prepared to wait a good 5 minutes to get the elevator. Also, the amenities were no where to be found, and the front desk wasn’t so friendly in navigating me there. Water would constantly spill out of the shower, and I would highly NOT recommend getting a studio room. The showers were insanely small, and the *loud* sink was outside of the bathroom. During my second day of stay, I went to ask the front desk if she could move us to another Marriott given all the construction, and she that she couldn’t move us, but if we wanted to check out and find our own hotel, she wouldn’t charge us a check out fee. Breakfast was solid, but for the amount that they are charging, I would pay a little more and sleep elsewhere. I was baffled by the final total of my stay. Pricey!

We stay at the Residence Inn adjacent to Beverly Hills on a semi-regular basis. Rooms are comfortable but some of the room layouts are a bit funky. The hotel was originally a hospital so there's a lot of variations in room layout. The hotel is transitioning into a more boutique kind of hotel and will most likely no longer cater to the type of guests that preferred to stay at Residence Inn type of lodging.

Look elsewhere. If I wasn't required to be here by my company for work, I would look elsewhere. In the rooms, the kitchen leaves much to be desired. The burners on the "stovetop" are tiny and barely get hot. I was waiting forever for a pot of water to boil on high heat. The dishware is also comically small; if you want a cup of coffee in the morning maybe the mug can hold an espresso shot, but little else. Housekeeping has been a wreck, leaving residue, used rags, and other gunk lying around the room after "cleaning". One member of my company checked in and found hair all over the bed! The amenities leave a lot to be desired. The "fitness center", if you can call it that, is in the sub-basement next to the boiler. It's sweltering in there! Plus, there is not nearly enough equipment for more than one person to be in there at a time. Plus, the front desk does not communicate or record requests. I had a request for something to be done before check-in, as I would be arriving very late at night. It wasn't done, and they tried to pin the blame on me, despite repeated calls beforehand assuring me that things would be done. The elevators are the slowest things I have ever seen. I got tired of waiting for 5+ minutes each time I needed one, so I soon just took the stairs. Which, by the way, are an absolute maze to get back down to the lobby with! Add that in with the current construction, and I would not be looking to come back to this place. Ever.

We booked this hotel for a family vacation trip, and we were extremely disappointed by this hotel. First of all, the hotel was under renovation, they didn’t even mention it on their website or on Booking. The laundry room, the gym as well the dining room were closed. That is to say, we had to eat our “breakfast” (cf. picture below) in our room. Not to mention the fact that we chose this hotel for the “included breakfast”. The staff didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. I just want to spotlight the dishonesty and the roguery of the hotel not mentioning this on their website. This hotel remains expensive, and the service equaled to a 1 star-hotel service. On top of that, our room was very dark, not that clean (the shower for example) and our freezer didn’t even work for ice cubes. In addition of this, the elevator didn’t work correctly. It didn’t go up to the right floor, that means it doesn’t synchronize with the floor you asked for. On top of that, if the stairs were not convenient and safe as they don’t connect to every floor by only on staircase (What if there is a fire emergency?). Then, regarding the safety measures, the hand sanitizer was empty in the elevator as well as in lobby. The location and the parking were the only positive things of the journey. I took time to write this review, but I don’t want any other person to live this experience in this hotel. I do know recommend this hotel at all, the quality doesn’t match the price. The renovation will last a long time.
