        Great location with a subway stop underneath. Rooms were clean and cozy, refurbished every day. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast included in our deal, but there is a 7-Eleven across the street and other grocery stores nearby, like Fresco and others. It's a great deal and excellent value for money. We were there for a whole week and felt welcome. There is a laundry room in the basement, which can be handy, and you can pay with an app as well, which is super useful if you don't have spare change. Highly recommended.

        Love it, will definitely stay again. The rooms are so functional and well designed, lots of places to store stuff for longer stays. Very convenient to be one stop from Kyoto station, but also walkable too. Grocery and convenience store right nearby and good, affordable restaurants next door, including Yayoiken (my favorite). My room was a bit dark since the windows are facing another building, but I didn’t mind because it also made my room quiet.

        The hotel is located directly in front of the subway exit, and there is a really good and highly rated traditional soba restaurant next door. The location is excellent! If you are getting breakfast with your stay, I would recommend managing your expectations. The breakfast is continental. It is very basic with no Japanese options. The rooms are clean but very dated and could use a refresh. If you are traveling with kids, I recommend that the first thing you do when you get to the room is to relocate the kitchen knives in the cabinet directly below the sink. I almost had a heart attack when my 3 year old found the knives when she was opening the cabinets and drawers. I relocated the kitchen scissors and fruit peeler as well. Our room was facing the main road, so the traffic noise was quite loud. Check-in is strictly at 3pm, so be prepared to leave your luggage at the reception and start your sightseeing if you are there earlier. Breakfast, smoking area, vending machines, and laundromat are located at B1. Overall, it is still worth staying here in Kyoto because of the convenient location and lower price compared to the other hotels in the city.

        Excellent location: At the exit of Gojo subway station. Convenient store and supermarket (24h) close by. Service: Very kind staff who helps me communicate with the delivery company to get my package on time. I’m immensely grateful for their help. Will definitely stay again.

        I'm sorry to say, this place let me down on a second visit. My stay here a few years ago was SO AMAZING, the location is fantastic, there's a super-fancy grocery store nearby (Gojo Fresco) and all the subway and bus lines you'd need are nearby. My main complaint is that, when arriving at 1:35pm, I was told I couldn't check in by the foreign staff they have manning the desk. When I asked if I could pay for early checkin, I was told no, and to come back at 3pm. Am I to believe that OF ALL the people that checked out that day, they hadn't cleaned not one single room? I travel for work, and there have been maybe 2 times in 20years when I was not allowed to check in at 1:30pm. Does Citadines realise that many of their clients arrive from long-haul flights, then take hours-long trains to their hotels? I am a member of Ascott's ASR club, and booked directly with them, as a repeat customer. What could I have done differently? I left my baggage at the hotel, and wandered around for a while, and during that time I checked with the Fresa hotel nearby to see if I could check in right away. They said I could, so I went back to the Citadines to tell them to cancel my reservation and to refund it. I was unceremoniously told that there are NEVER any refunds. And that once the funds are in Ascott's accounts, there is absolutely NO recourse. The staff were INCREDIBLY rude and dismissive. I responded that US credit cards don't work that way, and that I would get a refund one way or another. Then a manager appeared. She was lovely, polite, and well-spoken. She said that my room was, IN FACT, ready to check into, and that IN THE 20MINS since I had initially inquired "our staff has been working hard" and therefore I was now welcome to check into the room. She was very polite throughout my entire stay, but I'm DONE with Ascott. I've cancelled my ASR membership. They literally BLEW a relationship with a long-standing, loyal customer over a lie and a technicality. Their third-world staff is not gonna cut it in a clearly competitive Kyoto market. Bye Ascott, I loved you for while it lasted. These apartments are SO cute: kitchen, living area, and separate bedroom. I would've stayed here again and again. Not to be.

          Booking Policy
          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
