        Lovely hotel and check in and check out was very easy to do online. Room is very spacious. The bathroom was clean but was not as shown in the pictures. Ours was a little dated compared to the more modern version shown. I suspect it will get a facelift. That said it was very clean and we had no problems.

        Reception staff were very friendly, helpful and responsive. Room great with comfortable bed and very quiet. Good to have decent water pressure in shower and pleased that toiletries were in dispensers and not wasteful plastic single use. Liked the hardwood floors; more sanitary than normal carpeting. Excellent choice for breakfast. Good location near to District Line and able to leave car in hotel's underground car park for the duration of our break Very happy with our stay

        Overall, we were happy at our stay at Clayton. The room was clean and spacious and it came with complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits with some bathroom toiletries. The bed was very large and comfortable and in general, the area was pretty quiet at night. Breakfast was really nice, it was a help, yourself buffet with lots of choice of hot, cold and baked items. Staff were polite and the lobby was welcoming. However, a few things could have made our stay better. The room was looking a little tired in places, with some decor that looked outdated and furniture that was scuffed and badly scratched. The room never came with a mini fridge, dressing gowns or water (however, we asked at the desk for water and were told the rooms don't come with any but we were welcome to grab a free bottled water at the front desk). In the bathroom, the tap over the sink was in an awkward position, making washing hands feel a little awkward. At breakfast, the only small thing to note is if you're a tea-drinker like me, then you have to wait until the coffee machine is free to use in order to get hot water. This sometimes took a while, so the area really could do with it's own hot water elsewhere.

        Lovely hotel, in a great location. Fantastic breakfast and service. They only downside was the hallway was warmer than our room. We did raise this with Reception and a maintenance engineer allegedly fixed the problem. We returned to our room that night, to find it had not. When I reported it again in the morning , I was told that I should have reported it the night again. In our defence, it was after 9 pm and we had been out all day. So we were too tired. I would recommend this hotel and would probably use again, but not in room 901.

        We had to stay here last minute and the 'experience' was set after I checked rates online. Upon approaching the two Reception team, I was offered two different rates, neither comparable to the online (cheaper) price. Bearing in mind both staff members were doing nothing, I was told to book the room myself as online rates couldn't be honoured via them. If true then Management need to a grip of this situation, not only do you employ people for doing nothing, you evidently do not function within the hospitality sector. The bedroom itself was odd. Carpet now replaced with wooden flooring (for hygiene I'm told) However the bed had wheels on it and so with the slightest sitting down / getting up and generally moving the bed moved similarly across the floor. A call to Reception resulted in the wheels being semi secured by door stops?! Requested to speak to the Manager, I was told both the Ops Manager and main Hotel Manager would be in on Saturday. This was incorrect information and at the time of writing, despite a follow up call, I'm still awaiting one of these Managers to pick up the phone. As you'll see from the generic, bordering on pointless responses, which they post online - hospitality is seemingly an alien concept to the Clayton.
