We came to kamloops for a U11 hockey tournament. The whole team booked at the hotel. The Good, Entrance is very nice, Kids loved the pool. Restaurant is very good! Rooms were nice and clean. Cleaning staff was very friend The Bad. The smell of Marijuana when you walk in is not very inviting. No hot water in the morning. We had a game at 6am. Tried to shower, ran the shower and sink for over 10 minutes before it even got warm. Never got hot. The vents were loud witch made it hard to sleep. But the worst was front desk service. We had a game at 8am. We finished at 10am so we knew we played again at 3pm for gold medal,. we asked for a late check out so the kids could relax and shower. They said no. Need to be out by 11am. I understand checkout times. But is a Sunday! Honestly is every room booked I highly doubt it. And to think Kamloops calls itself the tournament capital. You would think the hotel would be a little more accommodating. Definitely won't stay there again!

It was a phenomenal experience, from the layout, to the rooms, to amenities. My only gripes were the music in the restaurant was a tad high making conversation a little over casual speaking, and the hot tub closed too soon. But aside from those very minor factors the place is brilliant and the staff are top notch, with a spectacular layout and atmosphere. The indoor oasis is a great touch too especially for someone who works outdoors in the winter it really creates a great getaway and taste of paradise without having to go far

We decided to have a night out. We don't use hotels very often and our hotel room at the Coast Hotel has reminded us why. It was a larger room, the furniture was comfy (but also had a couple rips and pulls in the fabric). The bedrooms were a good size (but double beds when they were supposed to be Queen). The staff were pleasant and check in went smoothly (but there is only one elevator per tower). I clearly had higher expectations for this hotel... it was built in 1989 with a renovation in 2013 and everything does look "nice". But if you look a bit closer, walls are not clean, doors are scratched and scuffed and previous electrical switches and outlets have plates screwed into the wall for a quick "fix". It's in a good location and has multiple amenities and based on the number of cars I see in the parking lot - is quite busy on a regular basis. Just not quite up to par on cleanliness and some of the smaller things one notices when staying.

Worst stay ever. Don't come here as a couple. We have been listening to kids scream for 3 days. To be fair, this is more a reflection of bad parenting by the other guests than the hotel itself. The rooms are great, the staff friendly. But wow. Constant thumping from above, ball hockey in the hallway until 11pm and cannonballs in the pool at 8am. I would never let my kids shoot balls at another guests bedroom door all evening. They couldn't have been older than 6. What are their parents doing?

I don't like to leave negative reviews especially off one experience and the staff were friendly however, there was a very unnecessary complication that I will not include in this review as it was eventually resolved. I will review just on the accommodations and provide my honest thoughts. The room itself was clean and served it's purpose. I have stayed in many hotels and this room was very dark and the drawers to the dresser would roll out and not stay closed. These are minor things that didn't affect my sleep and might be expected in a lower end hotel or a motel but I was surprised by at the rates of $225/night for this hotel. The parking was a nightmare and there was no where to park at the hotel because all the spots were taken! I had to park down the street on the street in front of another hotel!!! There is only one elevator for each tower so be prepared to wait! If you are in the tower I was in, it is a bit of a walk through a beautiful courtyard area of the hotel but if you have to carry anything especially if it is heavy, and you are held up by groups of people enjoying the gardens, streams and displays in the narrow passages, it could be a challenge. The stone walkway in the courtyard is very nice aesthetically but it's not an even floor nor is it ideal when rolling luggage or equipment to get to the elevator to go to your room. This might sound nit-picky but it definitely affects your experience in a big way! I saw a few elderly people struggling that I was behind carrying my own heavy items so unable to help them because there wasn't even room to put my things down and come back to them as that would block the narrow passage to others. I do understand that some things are how they are and aspects like the major parking issues might be out of one's control but then provide solutions or charge rates accordingly! My final thoughts would be that for the rates being charged I would expect a better experience and I would chose another hotel next time!
