Daiichi Hotel Tokyo

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Arrived last evening from Hiroshima. Though the hotel itself gives a 5Star feeling, the rooms we were given on the 12 floor was nowhere near 5Star condition. The carpets were stained in our rooms and the bathrooms were in appalling condition. Old bathroom (under pretence of a Hamptons bathroom ) that hasn't been updated in a long time and a grotty shower area with such a small shower head and hardly any space to put your shampoo etc. Dirty and grotty!! We couldn't change rooms because, apparently none were available. I will post photos later but looking at some the comments here, these people certainly didn't stay in our rooms. Hotel Management, this is a really bad experience for us. It's certainly not what we were expecting from a Japanese 5Star hotel. So much for cleanliness and Japanese hospitality we heard so much about. So don't book here folks, there are many beautiful hotels and apartments in Tokyo that are worth your money. I will provide details later.

I had the pleasure to stay at Daiichi Hotel Tokyo for 10 nights with my wife and a 2 year old. I did extensive research prior to booking this hotel and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Since we are traveling with a little one, having space in the room for our toddler to walk around is very important. Knowing the room space in most Tokyo hotels are around 200sq ft, Daiichi easily surpass that average with 300sq ft in most of their rooms. We opted for a corner deluxe room, so ours was even bigger at 350sq ft. This is also a huge plus for those of you traveling with multiple luggages. The location of this hotel is another key factor that led me to select Daiichi. There’s an airport limousine bus that directly brings you from NRT airport to the hotel. This is extremely convenient and hassle free, especially if you are already exhausted from a long flight or have a lot of luggages to bring back home. The ride was about 100 minutes since the bus makes several stops before getting to to hotel. 10/10 recommended. Depending on how fast you walk, the closest subway station, Shinbashi, is 2-5 minutes walking distance only. Shinbashi is also the main transfer station for many subway lines, which is a huge plus. Note: Be careful which subway line you need to take to get to your destination, because there are like 3 different subway stations that are all nearby, but they are not at the same location. Our room has a great view of the railroad tracks which our little one loved. The decor in the room gives you more of a Victorian vibe, so it’s going for classic rather than modern. The staff were always happy to greet us and made every attempt to satisfy our requests with a smile. There are 3 convenience stores nearby that’s opened 24/7 within 3 min walk. We didn’t opt for their hotel breakfast option since there’s an abundant choices right outside the hotel already that’s super affordable. There’s also a taiyaki place nearby that seemed popular with locals. You can’t go wrong with Daiichi, I look forward to returning again and have another amazing time at Tokyo.
