        We had an incredible stay here! The location was great as it was accessible to lots of parts of town. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and warm! They gave great recommendations for dinners and followed up all of their bookings with written confirmation. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We also ate at the restaurants and the meals were delicious! When we come back to Amsterdam, we will definitely stay here again!

        Great location, and such friendly staff especially Arthur. Our only issue is we could not open our room window to get fresh air, since it looked into closed court yard, and there was a damp smell throughout the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom wonderful!

        I have been fortunate to have managed a couple of luxury hotels in my career and Hotel De L’ Europe is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in. The entire staff could not be more helpful. The doorman has been at this hotel for 36 years. That should tell you something. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The dining rooms are wonderful and the food is excellent! Best of all this hotel, owned by the Heineken (beer) family, is located in the heart of the city.

        We had an incredible stay here! The location was great as it was accessible to lots of parts of town. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and warm! They gave great recommendations for dinners and followed up all of their bookings with written confirmation. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We also ate at the restaurants and the meals were delicious! When we come back to Amsterdam, we will definitely stay here again!

        Great location, and such friendly staff especially Arthur. Our only issue is we could not open our room window to get fresh air, since it looked into closed court yard, and there was a damp smell throughout the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom wonderful!

        This is what all 5 star hotels should use as an example. Our concierge has worked there for 25 years and clearly has a lot of pride in this establishment. The rooms were perfect, dinner options were 5 star, and the bar was a mixologist haven where we were able to decompress after busy days in the city. Location is very central to the major sites if you're here for vacation.

        This hotel has very good reviews so I will be a bit in the minority with this review. However, we had a few issues on our stay that we found disappointing that I believe are worth sharing as this is an expensive hotel and it earned best in Amsterdam T&L mag and should be held to a high standard. So first off, we stayed 3 days and each included breakfast which was great and the service was as well. However, on day 3 a company’s employees checked in with a large number and the restaurant was totally unprepared for this. No one was present to seat us, we couldn’t get our order taken, and food was very slow. If that was all that happened I wouldn’t have written this review, however, we had an unprecedented service issue that was poorly addressed. When we complained about the slow service to a manager, our waiter overheard and started defending the service - that mine came out quickly it was just my partners (and by the way we never blamed the waiter, it was a staffing issue). Then our food finally came he literally tossed it down on the table with obvious aggression and turned and left. When we asked for syrup he literally spilled half on the floor as he threw that on the table. But, the most shocking part was when I explained what happened to the front desk manager, he was more interested in training a new person then he was about what happened and simply said he was sorry. No offer of discount or sincere apology or follow-up call of any kind for a serious breach in service. Other issues were comparatively minor…the hotel charges you extra to book a private canal cruise, something they don’t tell you unless you ask. Most hotels do not do this for concierge service at a $600 Euro/night high end hotel. Finally, the rooms are quite small and think there are better accommodations in town for $. In any case, we won’t give this one another try.
