        I stayed several times in Divan İstanbul City last year and really liked this place, for its location, friendly staff, and a very nice breakfast. So I can’t describe how disappointed I was this time. I stayed one night, and decided to have a breakfast in the morning when I saw I had time, even limited, for it. I informed reception that I would I have a breakfast and would pay when checking out. Also I asked if they can help me with a taxi to pick me up a specific time, pretty soon. So, it was super weird, that after I informed restaurant staff I’d have breakfast and I would pay that extra fee upon checkout; she found me a few minutes later when I was picking food from buffet, and asked if I knew I had to pay extra. I said yes, although I already mentioned it myself. But then, just ten minutes later, right in the middle of my meal (and it was really hectic, as between the opening time of restaurant and the time for me to leave was not much space), she came with a check and card terminal and demanded me to pay. I was eating at that moment. It was super weird. I still have this really strange feeling. I had to stop eating, had to pay at my table. It never happened before. I stayed in Divan many times, had many breakfasts there, it was always enjoyable and the staff was super friendly. And then the taxi moment. I finished my breakfast, went to checkout, was time for me to leave. No one called the taxi. The receptionist said “I remember” and directed someone to start calling taxi. As a result I left twenty minutes later than I planned. I almost missed my next trip. I can’t really tell how much people’s attitude is important. The location and taste of food are replaceable, but the atmosphere is what matters most.

        I was on a business trip. The manager at the front desk is clueless from the manager and booking the day before. He tried to charge me extras. They were very rude. The rooms are very dated for what Divan quality hotel and service is terrible. I bought breakfast and they said the breakfast is until 10:30. Then I went down at 10:15am and they started collecting everything at 10:30😡very unprofessional. If anyone traveling from overseas, I highly suggest to avoid this hotel.

        Actually my reservation was for two nights and i was not able to stay more than one night. The hotel was not up to the mark, specially the rooms, there was lack of cleanliness and it was full of dust, many things were not working well , such as locker , hair dryer, towels smells disgusting, ventilation issues and smells very bad, construction maintenance noises, rooms needs renovation as the furniture is fully depreciated, in addition to that the room was too small and i was not able even put my luggage and walk into it and even no one offered me to take my luggage to the room in the check in process. And just to be fair, receptionists were friendly and the food was satisfactory.

        They made a mistake with my payment, and they contacted me, asked me to pay. Although I tried to pay through their mail order system, and payment did not proceed. They continuously contacted me through different channels as if I was a fugitive and I felt disturbed by the attitude. I completed the payment, however, as a result of this experience, I don't think I will ever stay at this hotel again. Rooms: Not too new but clean. Location: Good for my needs Parking: Very small parking that you may need valet assistance

        I stayed here for vacation, it was a good stay. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is friendly. Location is fantastic near to metro station and a in the center. Staff are great. On arrival we forgot a phone in the taxi, they helped get it in the same day. Also Divan Patesserie is great. If you are celebrating a special occasion this is where you should order a delicious 🤤 cake 🎂
