        If it were possible to rate more than 5 stars I would. Our three night stay here was the best we have experienced. Central location, lovely gardens, colonial architecture and atmosphere, cool hill climate, warm and welcoming service and amazing food - a true all round package. Time and space doesn't permit me to write all that I want to but I have to call out two aspects. The range of food in the buffet was super. It was great that they had items that are not common in other buffets while not compromising on the standard range. Quality was top notch. The other aspect was the great service. Despite the colonial vibe, everyone was warm and welcoming. Perfect balance of being attentive while not always in your face. Despite the hotel being pretty full during our stay, service was not compromised in the least bit. Definite 7 star rating from me.

        We had a wonderful experience at grand hotel earlier this month! The hotel looked truly magical decorated for Christmas! The rooms were well appointed and well maintained! What really made the experience special however was the service! The team at Grand Hotel were all well trained, true hospitality professionals, who went above and beyond to ensure that guests had an amazing experience. The food too was truly excellent, Chef Augustus Love has really taken things to the next level! I have been a patron at the grand on many occasions since I was a child, and this is truly the best the hotel has ever been, kudos to the current management team for uplifting the Grand to the glamour it deserves!

        I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The staff’s hospitality is beyond compare, with over 100 friendly faces always ready to assist. While double rooms are a bit cozy, the triple rooms offer ample space. The consistent hot water and impeccably clean rooms were noteworthy. The buffet was a culinary delight—freshly made dishes in front of you, a true action buffet. The alcohol bar, with its friendly bartenders crafting personalized cocktails, added a perfect touch to the overall experience. A memorable stay indeed!

        Visited in August. We had the most amazing pumpkin soup on arrival, absolutely delicious. Fantastic live music throughout our stay. Brilliant service from all staff, especially Nimal in the billiards room (professional snooker player). Swimming pool was stunning (make bookings and head to it early). Keep your windows open for a lovely breeze during your stay. Amazing bar and piano room. Karaoke is welcome during dinner if interested. Rooms do require slight updating, nevertheless a very comfortable sleep.

        My husband and I went for high tea at the grand hotel but didn't stay at the hotel. This was a very special experience in a good way. It was very delicious and sometimes it almost felt like we were in England. The service is very good and the staff is friendly. We had the high tea with bubbles and it was definitely worth every penny! Must try in nuwara Eliya!

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
