Breakfast buffet has a great view. The western food section is decent with good puff pastry. Chinese food section selection is relatively bland. Gym equipment specifically treadmills are way outdated. Rooms are not always top notch. Lower price point rooms not as well maintained and serviced as the more expensive (top floor) ones. Checkin almost always has a long line but the service staff are courteous and helpful.

It used to be the greatest hotel. Now the lounge is poor. Barely any food or drinks. Not during breakfast and not during happy hour. We did get a suite upgrade. The room Was nice but old. The staff barely spoke any English. The concierge was not aware of good restaurants and did not even know where a bank or atm machine was. The hotel didn’t allow to change currency, so we where lucky we had enough cash to get to the airport. Next time park Hyatt or regency again, because this was very disappointing.

I have stayed in the presidential suite of Grand Hyatt Shanghai. The location is amazing for Lujiazui (if you want to spend a night in Pudong), and the hotel is in located in Jin Mao Tower, one of the most iconic buildings in Shanghai (三件套). Jin Mao used to be the tallest building in China until it was overtaken by Shanghai World Financial Centre in 2007, followed by the Shanghai Tower in 2015. Despite the fact that the hotel is relatively well maintained, it is starting to show its age. It is, after all, opened in 2000. The hotel lobby is on level 54, with hotel rooms occupying floors between 55 and 84. Hence, it is still one of the tallest hotels in China with fantastic views. Apart from the iconic building, the location, and the views, there's pretty much nothing positive worth talking about the hotel. The service is appalling and would even be a stretch to be considered a 4 stars in my opinion (worst Hyatt hotel and 5 star hotel that I have ever stayed in). The staff are incompetent and rude (I get better and more consistent service at a fast food restaurant). Cleanliness isn't great as well...

Our stay at the Grand Hyatt was disappointing... We wanted to have a great experience to celebrate an anniversary as a couple but the room normally chosen for the view ultimately did not have a view... The service leaves something to be desired, the swimming pool is cold, the staff is not very attentive, you have to come with a swimming cap but obviously this is not mentioned anywhere so you find yourself with a fait accompli having to pay 15€ to the entrance to the swimming pool… what a disappointment for an establishment of this “standing”
