        Last minute booking via their home page with a discount. Hotel is very cozy and modern at the same time. Great buffet breakfast. Best part is the staff - everyone very friendly and helpful. We were greeted with wine at checkin and received rooms with city views. Highly recommended!

        Rooms are nice but front reception staff not up to scratch. This was my third stay in a H10 hotel and by far was the least impressive. I’ll give credit room was ready before 3pm check in time but: 1. Every day had problems with key card (they were not kept near an electrical devices). 2. Had two power cuts to my room on final night, rang reception and they told me to insert my card into the relevant port - they then said they would check with maintenance (second power cut happened shortly after) and no follow up to check the power back or to apologise for the inconvenience caused (I was ill so it was the last thing I wanted to experience). 3. H10 club policies not followed. On check in club 10 was not promoted and I was not asked to join or confirm as a club 10 member. Basic members are supposed to receive a welcome gift and a cocktail to redeem during my stay. The welcome gift (small box’s of chocolates they hand out in all their hotels) but no mention of the other perks or the cocktail voucher. 4. The reception staff gave an impression they wanted to talk to each other or I felt looked down on. When I’m paying to be a guest I don’t expect the world but expect to feel welcome when I walk through the door. 5. Menu both food and drinks very limited. The above may seem picky on some points but I have done a lot of travelling recently and it’s the small things that make a hotel when I worked in retail (customer services) we were constantly drilled remember the basics and it seems to be missing here. I’ve always been impressed with the H10 hotels I’ve stayed in and this hotel has the potential to be great but that was not my experience with this stay.

        Our stay in general was going fine, until our final night, my sister got very sick. She had severe food intoxication and we even called a doctor through the reception. As her situation worsened, we decided that we had to stay for another night. I asked the reception for a room for another night (it was a Monday evening), but they told me that there were fully booked. However, as I was checking their availability on Booking or Agoda, it seemed like that had a couple of available rooms. They told me that they can book me another hotel nearby. But As my sister very very sick, it would be an hassle to move to another hotel. I asked them again to check their availability, but they insisted that they had no rooms. We, sadly, had to move to another hotel when my sister was hardly able to stand up. The hotel staff did not only “try” to accommodate us, but they did not even ask us if they can help with anything (such as carrying our bags or giving my sister food/drinks, asking how she was feeling, etc). It was so heartbreaking to see how some hotels treat you as “customers”, rather than guests…

        I had customers spending the night there (they said the hotel rooms were good I didn't have a room myself) and we had lunch at the rooftop bar. Small menu, food just "ok" but prices a bit high for the food type. Nice view and very central near to the puerta de Alcalá and Retiro.
