        Horrible experience here. Not to friendly. Got told I couldn't eat breakfast here. Pretty much got treated like a criminal. Wouldn't stay here again. Asked the front desk where I can pay for breakfast cause it didn't look like anyone was working. Got rudely told "in the restaurant of course". I go to sit down. Got told i couldn't eat there cause something was going on. Well okay. Food probably sucks then. And the restaurant was dead. Nothing was going on. Do better management. Your employees suck.

        I've stayed at this hotel for decades because it's clean, safe, and its location is perfect for the work I do when in Winnipeg. It remains clean and well kept. I found the staff I interacted with to be polite and courteous. Where the hotel loses some points is its restaurant. They've progressively scaled things back over the years such that breakfast is now a buffet only (though the buffet offers a good selection of foods). Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were cold one day and the oatmeal was cold another. Our server was extremely apologetic in both cases and immediately addressed the problem. I didn't eat there for dinner, but that menu has been radically scaled back too. Summary: clean, quiet accommodation with an adequate restaurant for breakfast.

        I stayed here Dec 31, 2023 to Jan 2, 2024. Upon entering the front window was smashed but at no fault of the hotel. I can only imagine the drunks and junkies they have to deal with on a daily basis. I have alot of compassion for their employees who shown to be beyond proffesional and helpful. There was a man and woman at the front desk, they were kind enough to give my blind old dog some peanut butter as a treat. Greatly appreciated that gesture from them, the man even got down on one knee to my dogs level and gave her some pats. The staff everyday were extremely friendly and helpful going as far as to help me with the door when I brought my bags in and out. There was 2 staff members in the lounge a young girl who looked like doja cat and a man who said he's from a country by India, they were both very entertaining to talk to. This hotel does its best to keep up with cleanliness and you can see that. The rooms were a bit outdated but with the economy in todays age you can see they do their best to keep things in working order. My room had a amazing view that I was not expecting. All in all, I will definitely return.

        We held a reception for friends and family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary this weekend in the Frontier ballroom. The staff were so helpful, friendly and efficient. The room set up was lovely. The highlight of the evening was the fabulous food prepared by Chef Gerry! Our guests just raved about the variety, flavours and generous portions of the very delicious offerings. All our senses were involved - sight of the lovely presentations, smell of sauces and fresh focaccia, feel of all the different textures, taste of absolutely everything and even hearing as Chef took time to explain the menu items and chat with folks. Our evening was a great success!

        I have stayed at many Holiday Inn's across Canada but who knew the best one was just right down the street from me. What makes it special is definitely the staff. The week leading up to my stay, there were many encounters with unprofessional and snarky customer service rep.'s at different retail locations. It was a breath of fresh air to walk in the hotel into a sea of welcoming smiling faces. Every staff that I ran into struck up a conversation. If I needed anything there were no eye rolls or huffing of breath, just smiling accommodation. My 2 children and I ate at the restaurant, we had bbq bacon burgers and kettle chips and they were delicious. Def. Home made and not frozen. The pool area is clean and warm. The hot tub is large and just hot enough. The pool is warm with an adjoining kiddie pool. There are varying depths; 8ft, 4ft and kiddie pool is 2ft I believe. There is also a play room for toddlers. There are many comfy chairs and even a waterproof sectional. Our room was clean and stocked with stationary bottles of soaps and lotions (I believe dove), anything you need. We paid the extra $8 for a city view and it was worth it. I recommend reserving a room a few days ahead to take advantage of their $4 hot breakfast, really good. We had a great time during our stay.
