Hotel Alexandra was well-situated in the heart of Rome near the Trevi Fountain and well within walking distance of several sights, including the Coliseum, Roman Forum, and the Spanish Steps. It seemed a pretty safe area. The housekeeping service was very good and the front desk staff friendly and accommodating. Every receptionist spoke English very well. The economy rooms are very tight, though--especially the bathroom. One could almost use the toilet and brush his teeth at the sink at the same time! The shower pressure was excellent with both rain shower head and hand sprayer with plenty of hot water, but it was about the same size as you would find in a car-towed RV (caravan). The bed was comfortable enough to get a restful sleep, and the table at the foot was handy. Narrow French doors opened to a small, fairly private balcony and provided ample outside air if desired. We did not elect to include the breakfast. Restaurants were readily available. Our reservation was through Expedia.

Husband and I stayed here just one night on our way out of Italy and were very pleased with the room, staff, and service. We had a lovely large room, modern bathroom with a great shower, and a very pleasant terrace all to ourselves. The hotel arranged our transport from cruise ship to the hotel and then to the airport the next morning. It's an excellent location and I would definitely recommend.

We had a very nice stay and I would give the property a higher rating if the lift was working. We stayed for 4 days and were on the 4th floor. The lift was fixed on our last afternoon there but the several days of walking up 5 flights of stairs was a bit inconvenient. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nice and the property is in an excellent location.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Alexandra for our first trip to Rome. The hotel staff assisted with arranging transportation to/from the airport and Civitavecchia port, which relieved a lot of stress for us. We stayed prior to a 9 day cruise and returned after the cruise for an additional night, and staff recognized us upon our arrival and welcomed us back. The rooms were a decent size, clean, and comfortable. Our room had windows that opened up to the main street allowing us a picturesque view during the day, and kept noise from the street out when closed. Staff helped with our bags and delivered them to our room with no issue. Giada at the front desk is very professional, helpful, and lovely to work with. Her assistance and friendly attitude really made our stay! We will definitely be back for future trips.
