Booked a room and then double checked the reviews - sorting from "most recent," I discovered that bed bugs were in the rooms as of Dec 2023. I cancelled my reservation within about 15 minutes of the initial reservation. They did not refund me. I will be booking with another hotel for my stay. No refund = one star review, and making sure others know: there are bed bugs in this hotel. Bed bugs are a serious long-standing infestation, and I highly doubt they were able to get rid of them all within the month of such an extensive issue.

Over all this was a great stay. The hotel is pretty old, no screen on the windows so we couldn’t leave it open but they did provide a fan in the room which was great! I felt very safe staying here with their 24 hour staff and it was a nice quiet street when our Uber dropped us off late at night. Love the old school feel of this place but would be nice if some amenities where upgraded a bit. Also wish they had water in their vending machine. Like I said overall great and I would definitely stay here again!

I was pleasantly surprised with our room. It had been updated, had a mini fridge that we found handy, and was very clean. There was maid service every day. The room was on the 5th floor and relatively quiet. The only things missing were a safe, and small table to sit at. Also, no air conditioning so could feel warm on hot day. Otherwise very good. Location was excellent.

The hotel was super nice and the room was more than I expected. Small but cozy and I was happy with the room and the service in the room. The sheets were clean and the towels too. Everything neat ! However, I had an issue at the front desk with David, the manager as he told me. I needed help with my luggage, so my friend went to help me with my luggage, and he didn’t allow it because there was a rule, he said for local people. I told him we are not local people, we don’t live in San Francisco, therefore, I was staying in the hotel. He said the owner has imposed the rule, and said that for the price I have paid, for the deluxe room, didn’t include helping guests with their luggage. Super rude. As a guest and a constructive criticism, be lenient with the rule, I would understand for other people than guests staying the night, but entering the building to help with luggage ? I think that’s a little excessive. David should wear his name tag that says manager on it, how would I know if he is or not the manager?

Nice old elegant style hotel. Room was small, great for one person or two small people. I was alone so had no problems. Room was rather warm, this was Oct, can't imagine what it must be like from June to September. Also I thought the amount of $250 being held for incidentals was a little excessive. The receptionists couldn't even tell me if they were actually going to charge me then refund me, or if the amount was just being held. After a few days I logged into my credit account and saw that I was not charged, I felt they should know about these things and inform their non US customers when asked as they might not be familiar with these practices. Otherwise it was a good stay.
