Lost our reservation. 2 rooms. Found it after searching system but still no rooms available. Found us rooms after a few hours but not what we had reserved. AC didn't work at all throughout whole stay. Breakfast was decent but not worth the rest of the hassle. Location was convenient for most of Rome and near the train station.

It has charm, honest charm and a team of hard working fantastic staff. We only stayed for 4 nights in early August 2023. I didn't like Rome, but I loved this hotel. It's not a Novotel or Ibis, it is an honest family run hotel where people care about you, and it has it's quirks and it has character, such as its very intriguing lift, reminiscent of lifts in Parisien apartment buildings, often quicker to walk. The rooms are generous and well appointed, if a little dated, however they are spotless, the beds are very comfortable, the showers are powerful and hot, but in 33 degrees you don't need a hot shower, and the sound proofing is excellent. The rooms have air conditioning and a ceiling fan which needs some explaining, you'll get there. The hotel provides a cold breakfast with a wide choice of breads, cheeses, cold meats, cakes, fruit, tomatoes, cereals, juices, yogourts, coffees, teas etc. It also has a small selection of gluten free products, bread, biscuits, crackerbread, cereal, cakes, which are replenished on request. The hotel has a lovely lounge and bar area that was under-used when we were there. However we ensured we had a night cap, most nights and received the most generous portions of Grappa and an Italian drink that tastes like Czech Becherovka; Amaro I think. The staff also advised that if we ordered a takeaway, they would prepare the tables in the bar area for us to eat. with plates, cutlery, table cloths etc., we didn't but it was very generous that they made the offer. We did eat in the restaurant next door, twice, and also the New Delhi Indian Restaurant which is across the road and down the next street. I will never visit Rome again, but if this hotel was in another city, place I would definitely stay in it again

Just returned from Rome and friends and I stayed at the Assisi. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes walk from the railway station. Rooms are a decent size and comfortable and a managed to stay in two rooms in my stay (see below why). All the staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful. On the last day our flight was cancelled, luckily we were still in the hotel when we got the message (just about to leave) and they were able to sort a room out for us again. I would not hesitate in booking with the Assisi again, fantastic value, great location and wonderful staff.
