        Hated this hotel because of the location, actually pretty far from any walking streets or restaurants and every single taxi driver gets lost coming here. Impossible to get a cab. It’s very secluded Check in extremely slow. Bad service. Food in buffer was poor quality. No couches at all in the lobby while you’re waiting for a taxi. Should be two stars

        Both my husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff (I would like to mention some names here,( Isaac , Joe, Frank ) are very polite, helpful, friendly and attentive. The buffet spread was pretty impressive and good. Housekeeping was well done too. To get taxi was fairly easy especially the bellboys (Isaac and Joe) just waited willingly in the cold winds for them for us and other guests. We greatly appreciate the dedication from them. Thanks Hotel Equatorial Shanghai for making our stay pleasantly warming in China. I would recommend this hotel to friends and families anytime. Well done!! Keep up the very good hospitality of yours. Shine on.

        Wake up with a huge dead cockroach on the door side... Not nice experience. Front desk staff were nice and speaks good English, whereas the concierge are unwilling to help if you ask for a taxi. Difficult to get taxi in the morning as it is on a main road that is usually congested and thus unlikely to have empty taxi (need to wait for somebody to come to the hotel...). Room service food is so-so... Tried and then preferred to buy my breakfast next day at the Starbucks instead. Only good thing is that they have a convenient store nearby. Surely not goung back.
