        Great place!! We stayed for a week and it was perfect. So close to everything we wanted to do in Kyoto. Rooms were very new and clean. Washer and dryer (dryer room) was great to have, as was the refrigerator and microwave. The family that ran it were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

        First, I have to say the hosts were *absolutely excellent*! So, so very helpful. They provided the best service and assistance I have ever had at a hotel. I'll return to that later. About the lodging itself though--the location is great and you can't beat the value for what you get. Regarding the facilities, the rooms were clean, comfy, and well-equipped--in-room laundry, fridge, microwave, lots of outlets, comfortable bed, etc. The rooms and bathrooms are rather small though, so be aware of that (this is typical in Kyoto anyway). The service was what truly shined though. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, supportive, and informative. We had several complicated international travel matters that they helped us with extensively. I had to ship luggage and rare bottles of alcohol unexpectedly to a domestic airport, transferring to an international airport (this was only one of our many unexpected issues). They went to extensive lengths to help us. They even actively problem solved with us about many challenges across days of new issues. They worked on these things *for* us while we went out and enjoyed our day! My partner also lost her Apple Watch, which they found and shipped to us in the U.S. On top of all this they gave great recommendations (and lots of them!), were very friendly and kind, and spoke very often with us about our day's activities, making suggestions. They just went so far out of their way to make our vacation better and better. We really appreciated their incredible helpfulness!

        I enjoyed a four night stay here and enjoyed my experience so much that I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is tucked away on a side street that is literally a 30 second walk to the Nishiki Market, talk about great location! I decided to book the Premium Balcony room which was located on the top floor. The room was spacious (even for Western standards) and bright, airy and had plenty of natural night. The reason I chose this room was because of the balcony, which was a nice space to enjoy a morning coffee. The room was comfortable and included a separate bathroom/toilet. I found it very convenient that there was a washing machine. There was also a stovetop hob to cook with but I did not use this. The absolute highlight of staying here was the service. I can't thank the owners enough for their warm and welcoming hospitality. When I was browsing through some of the brochures in the lobby, the man behind the desk (unfortunately I did not get his name) gave me some excellent recommendations. It is clear that they are locals and know Kyoto well. There were some sights that I was tossing up about and he helped me to narrow down the best things to see in Kyoto - I am very grateful for the help and the recommendations. If you are after a clean hotel in a good location with knowledgeable staff, I would absolutely recommend staying here. If you can afford it, the room with the balcony is nice.

        My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and had an excellent experience. The hotel is in a prime location, right next to Nishiki Market and walking distance from the major transportation hubs of Kyoto. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and speak English. The room we stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and exceptionally quiet. It had lots of outlets and amenities, including a washing machine, microwave, and kitchen sink! Can't rate this hotel highly enough. When we return to Kyoto one day, we will definitely stay here again!

        Excellent experience. The owners are so thoughtful and sweet. Excellent rooms with enough space and all the right touches and a good price. Close to lots of things to see in Kyoto and to multiple train lines

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
          The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
