Stayed for 4 nights and I could say that this is the best hotel I've stayed in Japan so far--- convenient location (shops and the Imperial Palace are just across the road, and about 10 minutes walk to the Nijo Castle). Additionally, the subway station and bus stops to other tourist spots are literally just next door. I love how our spacious room features huge comfy beds, tatami mats, a natural wooden bathtub and a fully functional kitchen. The washing machine with dryer was very handy and I'm so happy that I got myself a workstation, too! Definitely perfect for a family or a group getaway. Highly recommended!

Wow, what a beautiful new hotel. Very convenient location near a subway station and right across the street form a convenience store. Despite being on a main road noise rarely bothered us. Staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke decent English. Superior twin room was gorgeous and very comfortable. For such a low price I can hardly believe what value we got. An in room washer dryer. A big cypress bath tub and a shower with great water flow. All the modern conveniences and features including a beautiful unique dining table, gorgeous plates, cups and bowls, a refrigerator, microwave, full toaster oven, and kitchenette with supplies. Plus a little in room garden that was beautiful both day and night. Clearly much attention was paid to detail, such as the bathroom door that holds open if you push it out, three prong electrical outlets, USB outlets near the beds, and much more. A more spacious, delightful room than the cramped uncomfortable one we came from at a nearby hotel. I'm so glad we switched to this hotel! We got a great night of sleep and wish we could have stayed longer. Very nice clerk Marin san and generous owner.

My wife and I initially intended in staying for four days in kyoto. The hotel has great amenities, ie a wooden bathtub which has medicinal smell when filled (It's very Unique). Also ample space to move around. We didn't get much of room in our previous stays. The hotel we stayed has a cooking area with rice cooker, oven, toaster over, top cooking counter and fridge. 😁 A fun thing that wasn't advertised and we found out when checking in. On the second floor the hotel has a mineral sauna available for small groups. There is a nice Terrance with many tables To enjoy meals🍷at, also a park across the street. Exceptionally clean, the staff try's to scedule cleaning when guest are out and about. Before the day, we've been asked when is the prestine time that we will be out in the city for cleaning purposes. The hotel is in the center of the city, great for travel to and from any location, great for short trip from and too. We were able to extend two nights as we liked the hotel and Kyoto so much. There's really nothing to complain about.

I can't speak highly enough of this hotel! The room I stayed in was a blessing. The kitchen included a moderately large fridge/freezer for a hotel, the view from my room was of the city block around Marutamachi Station, the room has a mini garden, a washer/dryer single unit, a large closet, a Japanese style shower room complete with wooden tub to soak after you're clean, and the friendliest bilingual staff I've ever had in a hotel (I've been to many from 1 star to 5 star, so this says a lot)! When checking in, the front desk girl showed me to my room, gave me a tour, explained how some of the things only labeled in Japanese worked, and gave me a heads up on how to power the room with the key card. Incredible. The experience in room is good, with only minor inconveniences. The AC goes down to 19C if you're like me and prefer cold, window curtains are blackout, the pressure on the bidet is strong (variable according to your settings), the shower is hot with excellent water pressure, the washer/dryer unit is quiet, the tub is big enough for even a 300lbs guy like me, and I can't hear any neighbors. The only complaints I have are that I can hear the walk chime from the street below, but that's only a problem until around 10pm, and the beds aren't comfortable if you like sleeping on a cloud. While the beds have power and USB ports for charging, they're hard as a rock (standard for Japan) and the pillows aren't better. The thick futon-esque comforters cushion this more than enough to soften it up, so this isn't a major complaint for me. This is MUCH better than a certain U---O Inn I stayed at in Kanazawa that you can reference my other review for. I would stay here again without hesitation (though I might bring my own pillow, lol)!
