        Two men tried to enter my room at 10:30PM on Monday 29 January 2024. They had a key, they did not knock, they just pushed the door open suddenly. I jumped up shocked but ready to defend the lives of my two small children. Fortunately the latch held. I rang security to call the police and barricaded my door on the inside. The hotel elevators have no security, so anyone can walk in from the street and go to any floor. This area of Rio de Janeiro has a history of criminal hotel invasions, so I was nervous, especially as I was travelling with my two small children. The hotel did not think it was a big deal. They say a hotel employee was conducting pest control and opened my door by mistake. No apology. Other guests said it was unlikely they were doing pest control at that hour and something else was going on. Anyone trying to enter a hotel guest room unannounced and late at night IS a big deal - it’s one of the worst things I can imagine, especially in a high crime area. The hotel is not operated by a well known chain, and management’s response reflects a serious lack of care. I am not confident this hotel has sufficient experience, capacity or systems to guarantee the safety, security and privacy of guests. Worse, they don’t even seem to care.

        Such a gorgeous, clean facility! Every employee that I encountered was friendly. I felt safe due to the presence of security. My room was gorgeous and clean. Much more spacious than I had expected. I wish I booked a longer stay. The spa was amazing, and reasonably priced. I wish I would have dined for breakfast and other meals. The hotel is located near the beach. There’s also shopping within a 10 minute walk.

        Such a beautiful facility ! Views are worth the value and staff very accommodating and friendly. We were able to check in early and was upgraded to an executive suite at no cost! The manager on site was very attentive and quick to help. Only downside is breakfast option is very limited

        Unfortunately, this hotel only has a good view from the window. Room cleaning is poor, dirty bed sheets are not changed, even after you ask. Dirty dishes are not cleaned all day after ordering food to your room. And you also pay extra money for services that don’t exist. It was my daughter’s birthday, they didn’t even congratulate us, and they refused to help us find balloons and flowers. The hotel is good, the service is not.

        Extremely beautiful hotel. However the fact that there are no universal outlets to plug in your laptop or other items, and you have to pay $14 for one of their adapters, is crazy. Especially for people traveling from abroad. Also I got charged twice, even though I already prepaid. The front desk guy, did apologize and refunded me my $. Not to mention they put me in a twin room, when I booked a king. So I had to move all of my belongings to another room. Only for a fuse to blowout on the adapter and my power went out in the room. Then I got so called upgraded to a sea view room, with little hot water. And although the view may be nice in the day when u can see the ocean. The Mountain View is better at day and night and u can see the Christ statue.
