One of the best stays that I've had in Japan! Location is absolutely perfect being situated within walking distance of shopping arcades, restaurants, bars, attractions, and bus/train/metro transport options. Rooms manage to stay totally quiet despite being so close to everything as well. Rooms have a lovely modern take on the traditional Japanese aesthetic and were relatively spacious and comfortable. There was also a matcha kit next to the kettle for that authentic Kyoto experience. Amenities provided were better than other stays throughout Japan, with items such as dry conditioner, face wipes, body patches, bath salts and mouthwash going above what is the norm. Staff were also very helpful and pleasant throughout.

My favourite hotel in Kyoto (I’ve been back twice). The location is awesome right smack bang in Sanjo and 10 minute walk to Nishshiki market. Lots of food options around and easy access to everywhere. The hotel decor is also tasteful and the rooms were comfortable with lots of useful amenities available.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband in January, we were given a room on the 5th floor and the receptionist spoke enough english to get us checked in. We were able to store our luggage in the lobby area as we arrived earlier than the checkin time. There is a lovely sitting area on the first floor with a microwave and coffee maker - we enjoyed many free hot chocolates during our stay! They let us know that the hotel doesn't have daily room turn down service, since we were only there two nights this wasn't problem, plus fresh towels were provided to our room on the second day. The room was small but we moved the two chairs and small table around and it was enough to store two luggages and a hand carry. The lights in the room weren't very bright and there wasn't much of a view outside. Amenities are stored next to the elevator on the first floor so you can take what you need. They provided many facial products, a face moisturising mask and even muscle cooling patches. There are two washing machines on B1, they are easy to use, you just put in 300 yen and it will start, with wash cycles taking ~30 minutes. The location was perfect, near Sanjo train station and walking distance to most tourist areas. There were many food stores and shops nearby.

Amazing service in a tranquil environment off the busy street in Kyoto. The hotel was a quiet sanctuary after full days visiting temples and other sites. Particularly liked the shared living lobby with comfortable lounge and hot chocolate. Lots of room amenities including comfortable pyjama's and facial creams. I enjoyed a hot bath in the very deep tub in the room too. The hotel is extremely well positioned close to geisha district and very quaint bustling alley ways with an abundance of good restaurants and cafes. Rooms are extremely clean, but very small. Comfortable bed, pillows and aircon.

A modern yet traditional hotel. Loved everything about the hotel - location and room. It’s right off the Kawaramachi street where you’ll find shops and restaurants. Although it’s near the Main Street the rooms are quiet. It’s also very close to Pontocho and Gion. There are busses and train stations nearby. We booked a superior twin room and it was very spacious. The beds were larger than regular single ones. Loved the design of the room and the use of tatami mats. We stayed 4 nights and they only cleaned the room once however clean towels were provided daily. There’s a lounge room in the lobby area with a coffee machine and microwave. We did our laundry in the basement level - a coin laundry room is available. Can’t recommend this hotel enough if you’re coming to Kyoto.
