Lovely hotel with a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the lobby was beautiful as was the room. The room was very clean and had beautiful tatami mats throughout. The lighting in the room was gorgeous and made for a great ambience, but we found it was a little too dim at some points - it would be great if you could increase the lighting more when needed. The bed was very comfortable too. The location was good too, with just a short walk to the Main Street and train station.

I stayed 2 nights and like the hotel, and it has the good location for shopping, sightseeing, food and the morning run along the river side. Moreover, the hotel rate is reasonable in Kyoto. I will recommend to my friends.

Love hotel resol! I wasn’t sure at first booking as I was worried it would be too far from the main areas to check out for a first time visitor however, we absolutely loved the location as it’s tucked away in the side streets still bustling with so many good restaurants and cafes close by. Check in was easy and staff were very friendly. The large double room we stayed in was a great size and fit both our big suitcases. The bed was a lot bigger than I anticipated (almost felt wider than king size and I thought it would only be queen at least). Can’t complain though because the beds were super comfy! The lighting and ambiance of the room was so calming and the beautiful headboard and traditional style window shutters were very aesthetically pleasing to look at. Room came with free matcha mixing set and complimentary water bottles. Highly recommend for couples who want a relaxing time and who want to discover some hidden gems along the way to the busier side of town. I would definitely book again.

We stay here for just under 2 weeks as this hotel was conviniently located and honestly it looked very cool for the price. And yes, it was pretty amazing for the price, truly chic, sleek, impecable and I loved the take on trying to make it look traditionally modern. This is no luxury (specially for Japanese standards) but for the price it is very, very good. Rooms are cosy and stylish, well equipped, beds and pillows comfortable and the bathroom are equally great. We got the check-out date wrong and when we got back to the hotel after being out all day, we realized they had checked out for us, super carefully packed and folded all our stuff, like all of it and just stored it there in reception with them. Communication was a bit difficult so whilst we truly appreciate the care they took to put all our stuff away, a heads up closer to when they realized we had missed the checking out time would have been better. Email, text, call, something! But we weren't sure what is the protocol on this situations either and it all ended in a funny anecdote of the trip.

Beautiful, cozy, safe, convenient, well-run. Hotel Resol Kyoto Shijo Muromachi is an adorable, clean, safe, conveniently located and exceptionally well-run hotel. The rooms are beautifully reflective of local culture, and public transportation is nearby, as well as access to taxis, and bears proximity to various restaurants and shopping attractions, including Nishiki Market!

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
