I was looking at a budget hotel for a weekend in Milan. Hotel Sempione came well recommended on booking. Com. The hotel is clean, though the rooms are very small, the photos make them look a lot larger. We walked past one room whilst being cleaned & that was even smaller. The area isn't what I call extremely noisy, but we heard street noise late at night, couples arguing, dog barking etc. The location seemed a bit run down IMHO. A lot of walls with graffiti, not many shops. The metro station Republica, is 3 minutes walk away. We didn't use the bar nor the breakfast facility, but from what I saw the bar had no windows, just didn't have any ambiance. The bathroom OK, tho I dislike shower in baths, because of the slip hazard & had a couple of moments getting out. The shower doors, which bi fold, awkward to use & the first time soaked the floor. There is no kettle or refreshments in the room, but there is a fridge. Bed satisfactory, but took me a couple of nights to get comfortable, the air conditioning, no instructions, so wasn't absolutely sure if working perfectly, as couldn’t get room really cool. Summary it's a hotel, if you working on a budget, then would suit your requirements, but don't expect much, it's the bare minimum for the price, if you have a bigger budget, then elsewhere would probably suit you better.

Better than what it looked like in the pictures. The nearby nightclub might cause some disturbance on weekends but during our stay the hotel was quiet. One of the reception staff members was a bit grumpy but we got our business done so it was okay. Good location.

Bit out of the main part of city. A good 18 minute walk. The lift in hotel is so slow, I recommend the stairs. Very good sized rooms, very good air conditioning, clean bathroom, comfy beds. Quite a nice breakfast! Satisfied. Thank you!

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The staff is incredibly rude. When I went to complain about my “superior” double room (the room is about 100sq feet total, enough room for a bed and the bathroom. That’s it) the manager on duty told me I had purposely booked a double room instead of a twin to save money. When the key didn’t work- and the lights in the room kept on going off every other minute- I was told that I had purposefully messed with the key because I was unhappy with my room. It took them 20 minutes to make a new key. Meanwhile, the air conditioner also didn’t work- and I was told there is only air conditioning in the summer, which is not what it said when I booked. Also, it’s May! And the room was hot. I told the manager that considering his rudeness I wasn’t going to stay in the hotel, he basically said it didn’t matter, because he would make sure I paid. So I called Booking.com to complain, and they said I should go ahead and leave and book another hotel. Which I did. Then when we tried to leave, the manager *literally* locked the doors to the hotel to make sure we didn’t leave until I signed my credit card. I did so, under duress, because we had just taken a red eye flight from NYC and needed to go to our new hotel and get some sleep. This hotel isn’t just awful, it’s run by bitter, unprofessional people. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The only good things are the breakfast and the proximity to the main rail station. If you work for any of the big 4 and are thinking of using - DO NOT. The facilities are ancient minus the entrance, the receptionist Emanuele is probably one of the rudest people I've met client facing and the beds and cushions seem to have arrived from a pilgrimage from 1972. They will also take your money twice, reimbursing you as if ok to launder money in people's accounts. Its overly expensive for the facilities and you might not even get a smile.
