        Excellent hotel! Staff were very nice and upgraded our room. We were allowed to check in early and our luggage was already in the room. The location of the hotel is super convenient. You can just walk through all the market streets from the hotel and there are also bus stops nearby. The convenient location really adds to the relaxation quotient for the hotel. We had the buffet breakfast a couple of days and the spread was nice with both Japanese and western foods. Would definitely come here again. :)

        Excellent hotel with outstanding location. The room was spacious but outdated. The beds and pillows were extremely hard, not the typical hotel linens and comfort. Location is great as it is close to many Kyoto attractions, shopping and food. The location does not have near by parking, you will need to park at near by parking lots, it can get expensive overtime. Breakfast was good with a variety of foods for different tastes.

        My husband and I stayed here for a few nights in late November and had some bad experience. The room is very small, the pillows are hard, but those were not the issues. The person who cleaned our room took our used towels and pajamas and didn’t even give us the new sets. I had to go ask for them at front desk in the middle of the night. Expect to take freezing cold shower at peak hour around 8:30pm-9pm due to high volume of guests using all hot water. Called the front desk, the staff told us that there is nothing they can do, they don’t know for how long the warm shower will be available again, it will be back whenever it’s back. It seems like this is something that happens all the time. We decided to use wipes instead of taking a freezing shower, we felt uncomfortable all night and couldn’t get a good sleep from that. Not being able to provide enough warm shower for all guests is extremely unacceptable, especially in cold weather months. Warm shower should be the most basic service that a hotel could provide at all times. We were very disappointed with our stay and will not come back. Only one great thing about this hotel is location. Other than that, I don’t recommend this hotel.

        Bad room. The stuff try to do their best, but it doesn't help it the room is terrible. 1). At the middle of shower the water stopped running because guests use, and they couldn't help it. Had to wait for 30 minutes till water returned. 2). The system of air conditioning is central and the guests cannot adjust. 3). No available to open a window at all even a bit for fresh air, and it's claustrophobic feeling

        Excellent location, both for exploring kawaramachi by foot as well as having the bus stops 1 min walk away to go to all main areas of town. Staff both at reception and cleaning are super attentive and cordial. Rooms are a good size and we got a free upgrade so ours was huge. Rooms are clean and bed very comfortable. The area and hotel as also extremely quiet at night so slept really well. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto.
